This hotel was probably one of the worst stays experience we have ever had. The first night the bathroom door would not close at all (no privacy) there was also hair on the floor and fan. The telephone/intetcom would not work. The house keeping standard was not good. Worse than this was the attitude of the gentleman on reception. When we told him he replied with “the room was not dirty” disregarding our concerns. Everytime we raised an issue management would just say “this is a small issue”. They then gave us a new room the following day. In the evening when we got back to our hotel there was no hot water so my toddler had to shower with cold water and cried his eyes out. Myself and my husband also showered with very cold water. We called the receptionist (a different man at this point) who assured us the water will be warm in a little while. When we spoke to receptionist in the morning (original gentleman) he was extremely rude and abrupt. Claiming the water was only cold for 10 minutes! I then explained how is it possible for 3 people to shower within 10 minutes if we all showered in cold water? He then proceeded to go check the water temperature and tell us it is warm even though the water was cold 9 hrs prior (the nighr before). At the same time we overeheard other guests complaining they were unhappy with their room (clearly we were not the only ones). We wanted to speak to the manager and she was no where to be seen, even on the day we checked out. This hotel shouldn’t be 3 stars if it can not even rectify or even acknowledge mishaps. Poor customer service indeed! I have never been spoken to so rudely by a reception and this hotel lacks basic etiquette on how to deal with guests. I am not happy about this at all. This was my first trip and the stay was such a bad experience. I will certainly think twice before booking through your app. You have certainly lost my trust on hotel bookings! The amount i paid and the service i got is totally unacceptable! The only answer to our concerns they had was if you don’t like it find another hotel- as if that was so easy in peak season with a...
Read moreI have just returned from Paris with my friend and two small babies. The hotel was average in just about every way. The rooms were small and a little run down, but no more so than the other low budget hotels in Paris. It was interesting that you do not have to give them a credit card number when you make the reservation. This seemed odd to me, so the day before we traveled, I called to confirm, and everything was ok. However, just to be on the safe side, I would definitely call to confirm. The front-desk employees were very helpful; although my friend and I noticed that that when she only spoke english, they were not as nice, but when i spoke a little french, they became much nicer. We had no issues with safety. The area is decent and there is a grocery store across the street. ||||Both my friend and I found it quite difficult to get the strollers in the elevator. We had to take the babies out and collapse the strollers. However, we asked the front desk if we could store them downstairs, and they happily agreed. It is rather noisy on the front side of the building, but the back side is quiet as a mouse. The beds are not the most comfortable, but when you only pay 50 euro a night in paris, you cant expect the best. ||||All the directions to the hotel suggest taking the Metro from the Gare de L'Est. However that is 3 transfers on the metro (and with luggage and strollers, not easy). There is a wonderful bus number 31 that takes you directly to the hotel in about 20 minutes. You can catch it just outside the train station. I highly recommend using this rather than the metro. However, to get into the city, the metro is only 2 blocks away. Very walkable. And it is only 6 stops to the Champs-Elysees.||||They offer a light breakfast for 5 Euro (2 breads, coffee, and juice). You could probably find something cheaper along the way, but it was a nice relaxing way to start our days.||||All things considered, I would go back (but this time use the bus system to and from the...
Read moreWe loved that it is out of the tourists zone. There is a market right at the doorstep on Saturday. You can buy tea/coffee at the hotel if you don't want breakfast with them, also there is a lovely bakery on the corner too, and a supermarket right opposite the hotel. The staff is really nice and helpful. If you want to have a longer sleep than7:30- 8am, bring earplugs, as the doors are very thin and you can hear everything, the lift shaft was right next to us, every time the lift was called, it was humming loud and the door creeks and bangs. The cleaners were really lovely but loud early morning and knocked on our door to ask if we need cleaning. Maybe a door knob hanger would be useful? It is a lovely hotel, clean and good area, only the noise issue was a problem. However, I would still recommend it, because it can be eliminated with...
