KIEZ Biergarten Montmartre — Restaurant in Paris

This is a review about the hostel, not the restaurant. I've been a budget traveller for quite some time now, I've seen a lot of cheap hotels so I can confidentiality say that I wouldn't wish staying at Kiez Hostel in Paris even upon my worst enemy. Where do I start? When I arrived on time for the check-in, nobody was there. You only get to talk to staff as long as the restaurant is open and that appears to happen somewhat randomly. The breakfast I was promised and paid wasn't available at all since in the morning, nobody working there was to be seen. Actually I think tearing down the whole building and rebuilding it would be better for every poor soul staying at the hostel. The appartement was shabby, looked nothing like the photos, the furniture looked like it was collected from public waste stacks, nothing fit together, everything was old and shabby. The bed was very uncomfortable and there was a huge TV screen randomly placed in front of it that did not even work. The wooden planks were worn down and I always had to watch out for splinters. But worst of all: The terrible black mold in the bathroom. It's been a while since I fled this place and I can still remember the terrible stench of the disgusting mold patches on the wall. If I were the owner, I would be ashamed of letting people sleep in these moldy apartments. I'm pretty sure that letting someone rent a room under these health threatening conditions is illegal. Because of the stench I stayed at this hellhole as little as possible and kept the windows open even in the freezing cold. Leaving Kiez Hostel was one of the best things that happened to me in my entire life. Please, if your money and health are of any worth to you, avoid this place...

we payed 80 for an ugly room with apparently separate beds. The room was not as described and had a small metal object that punctured my feet. We also found small cockroaches in the room. In the middle of the night people just opened up our door and saw us. apparently they booked the same room while there are only like 5 rooms. The breakfast was just a qouque ou chocolat with a piece of bread and butter. At least the 2 younger bartenders were very nice. The owner was a bit weird and just asked us who we were and why we were in that room and gave us the mediocre breakfast. Now that I am home I have bumps all over my body like there were bedbugs or something, it certainly looks and feels the same as last time I had them and they come only after a few days . We only slept one night in inside so this has to be the place I got it from. the other night we spend camping in Fontainbleau. Maybe the restaurant is good but the hostel was a nightmare.

Edit: Yes the guy who helped us was friendly but you didn’t even excuse yourself. You were just looking weird at us for being in the room we paid for. Ofc I act friendly that day, I didn’t want to make a scene. A couque ou chocolat and a piece of bread of equal size is not 5 euros nor is it a breakfast. Eggs and bacon and an apple juice would still be under 5. You sell your rooms for high prices and I think you know they are not great. A small investment in a normal bed would be sufficient. I guess you don’t want to talk about the bedbugs and...

Le site du Kiez annonce un brunch à volonté à 24.90 € avec : Charcuterie allemande, Variétés de saucisses, Maultaschen, Hareng, Fromage, Obazda, Bar à omelette, Salades variées, Betzels et grand choix de pains allemands. Müsli, Fromage blanc frais, Apfelstrudel, Kuchen, Fruit frais de saison, Pancakes, Choix de confitures et Nutella.

Au Kiez du 18ème, à 12 h 30 sans grande affluence, il y avait : -une demie-planche de jambon de Parme (photo disponible) mais pas de jambon de Forêt Noire, c'est-à-dire pas un jambon allemand ; je n'en ai donc pas mangé une demie-planche de fromage la même variété soit un camembert, donc pas allemand (pas mangé car je viens dans cet établissement pour manger allemand) pas de Obazda, fromage allemand une demie-planche de "salami" qu'on mange en Allemagne pas de bar à omelettes. Face à mon désarroi, on m'a proposé de m'en faire une au fromage. Elle n'avait ni le goût d'une omelette, ni la texture et encore moins la saveur fromage.... 5 Maultaschen aux légumes je crois pas de hareng 4 "lots" de saucisses blanches (soit 8 saucisses) (froides) 5 saucisses de Nüremberg (les toutes petites et toutes fines) un tout petit peu de curry wurst du chou rouge (pas très bon) du chou blanc (pas très bon) pas de pancake pas de nutella pas de pancakes (j'aurais bien apprécié même si ce n'est pas allemand) -pas de fruits frais des flocons d'avoine en guise de Müsli Apfelstrudel, gâteau autrichien, que je n'ai pas pu manger. Par endroit, il n'était pas cuit et par endroit, il était sec. Aucune saveur et pourtant le Strudel est un gâteau tellement délicieux Käsekuchen qui n'en est pas. Le gâteau est mouillé et coupé et coupé un mini mini. De toute façon, je n'ai pas pu le manger tellement il était mauvais, Käse Kuchen ou pas ! un seul Brötchen dans la panière à pain pendant toute la durée du Brötchen, donc une seule variété alors qu'en Allemagne, il y a une multitude de petits pains et que cela était annoncé sur le site un Bretzel tout seul sur son socle mais en demandant, j'ai pu en avoir . Ils étaient bons

En arrivant, on est tout de suite surpris par : le manque de quantité (je peux entendre qu'on ne veuille pas gâcher la nourriture mais il faut un minimum surtout quand on annonce un brunch à volonté) une différence notable entre le brunch annoncé sur le site et la réalité Dès les 1ères minutes, j'ai failli repartir et j'aurais dû.

La plupart des mets sont sans saveur, la nourriture est froide, l'établissement sale (je ne parle pas de ce côté "fouilli" que je connais et qu'on trouve à Berlin et que j'apprécie)

J'ai essayé de joindre l'établissement par mail et par téléphone à différentes reprises et moments de la journée avant et après notre visite en vain.

Le seul point positif de ce moment au Kiez est le serveur espagnol qui était vraiment désolé et a tout faire pour nous satisfaire avec le peu qu'il avait. On l'en remercie mais c'est un brunch de qualité et allemand que nous venions chercher.
