This restaurant is a firm favourite of ours in the area. We've eaten here so many times, I'm almost ashamed itâs taken me this long to say so. The food is reasonably priced, and the quality is excellent. The owner makes it his personal mission to greet and ensure all customers feel welcome and cared for.
The menu is simple and classic, written on a chalkboard and passed around, which honestly adds to the homely, relaxed feel of the restaurant. The kitchen team sends out plate after plate of delicious foodâquickly prepared and well-presented. If you're unsure, try showing up in the middle of service; the queue and bustling atmosphere are testament to the great quality and vibe.
My only suggestion for improvement would be the artwork. The owner seems to be experimenting with a gallery-style restaurant. Most of the paintings are a bit odd, frankly, and many depict the owner himselfâwhich feels slightly strange.
Also, this is more of an âentrĂ©e and plat principalâ kind of placeâdesserts are pre-prepared and invariably served cold. Fruit tarts are often soggy and slapped on a small plate by a rushed waiter, and (in my opinion) tiramisu should never be made with mango or fruit coulis. That said, once youâve had the first two courses, dessert usually feels redundantâso no worries there.
This place is a local delightâmost definitely worth a...
Read moreThis was by far our best meal in Paris. We werenât sure exactly where we were going since it was quite far from the usual tourist spots but we are so glad we went. The owner was so gracious to seat us without a reservation. The restaurant was clearly quite full so he could have easily turned us tourists away. We only waited five minutes and were seated. He and the wait staff were so very kind and attentive. The food was amazing. My kids ordered duck. I got a veal steak with truffles and my husband ordered fish. Everything was enjoyed completely. Then the waitress offered to choose two desserts for us and brought us a chocolate mousse and an apricot tarte. Delicious!!! Our table neighbors also struck up a conversation and gave us great recommendations for our trip to Brittany and Normandy. It was very nice for everyone to welcome us into their neighborhood home....
Read moreI am a tourist visiting Paris. My wife and I Have been to Chez Pradel twice in the past week and have loved the experiences both times. Having so many options in Paris, what made this so special for us was the incredible service, delicious food, and personal attention that everyone from the chef to the waiter provided us with. This is a neighborhood gem where all of the patrons seem to have a personal relationship with the chef and the staff. During our first night, my wife asked for Tarte tatin which they did not have on the menu but the chef said he'd make one for us if we told him when we would come back. Sure enough, on our next visit, we had one of the best Tarte Tatin ever! Make sure to reserve in advance because this lovely restaurant fills up. It's absolutely worth...
