HORRIBLE AVOID AT ALL COSTS
My mother and I stayed here recently and legitimately almost died. There was a carbon monoxide poisoning and the hotel was evacuated. Once we got across the street, we learnt that the hotel had carbon monoxide. We tested positive for high levels and were rushed to hospital. After 5 hours in a dingy French hospital, we were finally released. The hotel initially refused to A) pay for our taxi back to the hotel and B) pay for our medical expenses, they tried to say it was a routine carbon monoxide drill, it was not. Anyway, after a few hours, the owner of the hotel arrived and said they would not only pay the medical expenses but also zero out the balance, after arguing for hours.
Happy ending, right? Wrong, months later we were still receiving mail from the French government saying we owed hundreds of Euros in medical expenses, finally after about 3 months(recently), they zero'd everything out. This experience, coupled with the fact that an employee told my mum who is a 59 year old JD holder that "it's time for you to go to bed" whilst she was using the computer, lead me to say this is the worst hotel in Paris and I really suggest checking elsewhere...

But everything exceeded my expectations. ||||Sure, the room was small compared to what I'm used to but my understanding is that is common in Paris. However, it was perfect for me; clean, 24 hr manned reception, an excellent base for exploring the city and friendly & accommodating staff. ||||I wasn't sure what to expect staying in the 19th arr. but the area is great and I never once felt unsafe. There is a fantastic little boulangerie right next door, some really nice restaurants along the Quai and the Riquet Metro station (200m away) can get you to the Louvre in less than 20 minutes. ||||I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. Especially if you plan on using it as a base to explore the city. ||||Positives - clean, good value, friendly staff, nice neighbourhood, close Metro. ||||Negatives - room may be smaller than you would find in other cities but this is...
