Stayed for 4 nights at the Ibis. This is a budget hotel so don't expect chocolates on your pillows at night. We arrived early and we were greeted by friendly staff who let us put our cases into storage while our room was being made ready. We went for a lovely walk along the Crimée canal. When we returned our room was ready. 5th floor but we had to go in the lift to the 6th and walk down as 5th button didn't work (and still doesn't when we left). We had a few issues with the door card not working 3 out of the 4 days but the staff were quick to get it sorted. Room was basic bed table and a 16 inch gap in the wall with 4 coat hangers they call a wardrobe. No chest of drawers so most of our clothes were piled on the floor. Toilet and shower clean and shower worked well. TV showing all French channels except for CNN news no BBC news at all. Breakfast was continental with a choice of fresh fruit salad, a selection of yogurts, cold meat and cheese, fresh baked French bread, croissants and pain de chocolate. Selection of teas, coffees, juices and freshly squeezed orange all availability in a clean area. We used the hotel as a place to explore Paris from and loved every minute of our stay. Crimée Park and canal is a great place to walk day or evening and train stations that take you into the heart of Paris are just minutes walk away. This is our second visit to Paris and would put the Ibis on our list to stay...
Read moreRoom 603 - the carpet was disgusting. We asked for extra towels so we did not have to walk on that carpet from bed to bathroom, it was that bad. It is not a great expense for the hotel to pay to carpet clean considering room rates. Only one electrical point worked. The shower was strangely placed under the slope of the roof with no consideration for a taller person. Positives: Room 603 is very big and if the room is cleaned and updated, with access to roof top terrace, they have a winner on their hand. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Staff were very friendly and I would like to give a big mention to the Reception staff esp Bara. Bless him, he tried his best but it cannot be pleasant for him to have to deal with the same complaints over and over again. I know they have renovation coming but the hotel should close off the worse rooms, deep clean the remaining rooms and then sell to the public. The sad thing is that the concept of the hotel being close to Rosa Parks station has a freedom theme throughout the hotel, even the carpet in the room has the words of Martin Luther King. It seems disrespectful for it to be left in such a disgusting...
Read moreThis hotel is really in need of an update. The reception staff are friendly however from there is where the problems really start.
The carpet in the room desperately needs replacing, it is stained, dirty and smells when the window is not open.
The room is incredibly small and I was there by myself, I don’t know how 2 people could comfortably move around such a small space.
The bathroom is tiny and small and smells of damp, however the pressure in the shower was high.
The bed is very uncomfortable and both nights I woke up several times due to such an unsupportive pillow.
I appreciate it is unusual to be this warm in October, so the window was open, the noise from outside it very loud and I woke up every hour on the hour.
The fan that was provided was covered in dust on the inside, I reluctantly used it as I couldn’t sleep with the window open anymore.
Finally the decor of the room is so dated, the tv wasn’t straight on the wall and there is no digital tv, which means most of the channels do not work.
I would advise staying...
