We stayed at the Loges du Parc for a 3 night stay at the end of May - 3 bikes, 4 people. We choose the hotel because it had a lock-up garage for security and place turned out to be a good choice. The hotel staff/management were also very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English.||||The hotel is undergoing some modernisation, but we had rooms overlooking the park at the front of the hotel that were typically old-style French - carpets on the walls and dark brown suite in the bathroom! However, the beds were very comfortable with high quality Egyptian cotton sheets.||||Strangely, there is no bar or restaurant in the hotel, but a very large breakfast room with plenty of choice. The lack of bar was not much of a problem as there is one just 50m down the road (the Neptune) which slaked our thirst after our ride-outs!||||Gerardmer is a funny place - a bit like a French Blackpool - all chavs, stag and hen parties and too many fast food snack-bars. One decent restaurant (the Perle) but the rest were just mediocre... However, it is a great spot for riding the Vosges roads as there are awesome roads in just about...
Read moreWe stayed here in December 2014 for a little getaway snowboarding holiday. The hotel is right across from a huge free parking space and the lake. They recommended a local climbing wall to us, which slightly made up for the missed time on the slopes. The ski storage room might not offer all the facilities usually found, like boot drying racks, but it does the job. The restaurant offered a great range of breakfast items, however as we were both students on a budget we opted for the local bakery on most days. This hotel is definitely recommendable if you are looking for a comfortable yet not too...
Read moreMy wife and I came here in April to do some hiking in the area. The hotel was wonderfully located right by the lake and very short walk to some great hiking places plus stores and restaurants. Unfortunately on Expedia it stated that the hotel allowed pets, 1 dog per room so we showed up with our Doberman-Greyhound mix but when we got to check-in the lady informed us that they did not allow pets. The receptionist was very kind and since it was the slower season and the hotel was very empty we were allowed to stay with our dog :) Room was small but worked great for us. The breakfast is 10euro per person with a good selection and filling foods. Could not have asked for a better place to stay while we were...
