I booked here for the night before my departing flight from Charles de Gaulle largely off the reasonable rates relative to the other 4 star hotels near CDG.||The location is mainly for those travelling to CDG, or those with an overnight connection/flight disruption so there's not a whole lot around though there is a nice city park across the road for Roissy-en-France to go for a stroll.||The room was standard as far as Marriott properties go. Size wise the room was large for Paris as I was able to get a room with two double beds which is difficult even for the airport area, to say nothing of the city of Paris. The decor was nice and up to date for the most part. There was a nice seating area and a workspace. The beds were comfortable with a nice mix of soft and firm pillows. There were no issues regarding cleanliness and upkeep and the room was able to maintain a comfortable temperature, though there was a few holes in the desk chair. Notably, there are still water dispensers located near the elevators on each floor and there's even a glass bottle that you can use for it.||The bathroom was again of a solid size and had all the makings of an upscale Marriott property. The shower's water pressure was mediocre, but I do credit the Marriott for actually providing body wash, shampoo, and conditioner which the two previous hotels I had stayed in did not have all three.||Breakfast in the morning was absolutely amazing. It incurs an extra charge though we added breakfast during our booking at an extra cost of around $34 per room. The selection was vast with numerous hot options including Ratatouille, cold cuts, cheese, fruits, and a large selection of breads and pastries. The quality of pretty much every item was very good and the breakfast staff were extremely proactive in cleaning up plates and tables. ||The shuttle to the airport is where things get murky for this Marriott. First, the shuttle only runs from the hotel to an area between Terminal 2B and 2D, meaning that going anywhere else (even in the rest of Terminal 2, to say nothing of Terminals 1 and 3) is going to take a walk or even an additional shuttle to get to. The second peculiarity is that the shuttle runs from 6:00-13:45 and again from 17:00-21:00, but this is helped by the fact that you can request the shuttle on demand from 13:45-17:00 and from 21:00-23:00. What is interesting is that the shuttle completely ceases to run from 23:00-6:00, meaning that if you're on a late arriving flight or a flight that has been delayed/cancelled, it will be impossible to use the shuttle to the hotel.||Regarding the service, I generally think that the staff at upscale hotels, especially chain hotels, are generally pretty consistent but I actually felt the staff here were a clear cut above. Everyone I encountered was extremely warm and welcoming without being overbearing. Special mention for Fanny at the front desk, who was extremely helpful and welcoming during our check-in.||While the shuttle is a bit of an inconvenience, this Marriott is a great option if you're flying to or from Terminal 2 during daytime hours especially given average prices of comparable 4 star hotels and the excellent breakfast...
Read moreMy wife and I spent one night at the Marriott Hotel at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France. The room was included in a tour package of Normandy, so I can’t comment on the price.||Due to its location, there aren’t any shops or cafes in the immediate area. Restaurants are available at the various hotels surrounding the Marriott. A shuttle is available to the airport proper.||The lobby is open and quite spacious with numerous seating options. Check in was friendly and efficient.||You need your card key to access the elevator. You also have to insert your card key in a slot when you enter your room to activate the electricity. Wifi is free for Bonvoy members.||Our room (332) was the last one after a zigzag trip down a long carpeted hallway. The carpet made pushing our luggage to the room a bit of a slog.||The room was very spacious and had a non-descript contemporary decor. A large closet on the left also contained some shelves which held a safe. (No iron/ironing board.)||Next was a door, apparently offering the option of connecting adjoining rooms.||Further along was a dresser/credenza which included coffee/tea fixings and a mini-fridge. A large flat-screen TV was above that.||Completing the left side were a desk and chair. ||On the right side was an upholstered lounge chair and ottoman. And a standing lamp.||The room came with two beds: a king-size bed with four pillows. and a twin bed with one pillow. The king-sized bed was quite comfortable.||Walking into the very spacious bathroom it dawned on me: we were in a handicap-accessible room, even though we didn’t request one. (I later confirmed the fact with the front desk.) No matter, the room worked fine for us.||There was a tub with a wall-mounted hand-held shower head. ||TIP: Typical for Europe, the tub is elevated a bit above the bathroom floor, making exiting a bit tricky. That seemed like a poor choice for a handicapped room, but it did have an extended shelf at the end which I suppose allowed one to scoot in and out of the tub.||We did have an issue with the tub stopper. My wife couldn’t get it to open, so her shower ended in about six inches of water in the tub. Fortunately, I was able to pry the plug off and get the water to drain.||The sink had adequate counter space. “in the zone” lotion soap and lotion were on the counter; wall-mounted body wash, shampoo and conditioner were in the tub. ||There also was a wall-mounted hair dryer.||The commode was comfort-height - the seat was somewhat higher off the floor. ||Towels were fine; no wash clothes though.||Our room included buffet breakfast in the restaurant off the lobby. The usual hot/cold choices were available.||While the room in general was clean, I have to comment on the (deferred) maintenance in the room. There was a series of gouges in the wallpaper next to the bed; and a poorly patched hole in the in the bathroom door. (see pics.). Not up to Marriott’s standards, I’m sure.||In summary, our one night stay served its purpose. Excluding the maintenance issues the hotel is just one of many options for overnight accommodations in the airport area.||For more information, visit the...
Read moreUpdate: Aug 9th - @Marriott How can almost 2 weeks be acceptable for a reply in case # 57964414
Update Aug 6th - Marriott on FB says they will get the hotel to reply in another 3-5 days. It is clear the hotel management is ignoring the issues and not responding. Book any other hotel you can in the area.
Update Aug 1st - No reply from Marriott corporate after 5 days. Just a support ticket number and a message saying they are really busy and will reply as soon as they can.
Additional update: On spending the day in Paris and coming back to the airport to catch the airport shuttle I ended up getting an Uber. After the second hotel shuttle was full and waiting 45 min I chose not to wait again for the next shuttle I could have gotten on. Make sure you understand the possibility of not getting on your first or second shuttle as it only fits 9 passengers. Also I asked to have $90 of room service to be comped for my issues during my stay and was told that due to being upgraded my last night they were unwilling to do so. As I was not provided the room type that fit 3 adults on arrival, a non draining tub, and the other issues below I am not content with this answer.
Updated: with all my challenges I will say the Front Desk staff has been empathetic and professional. They moved us today. I hate room moves, but it is a much better option than a super slow drain shower. Quality comments still stand. Raising one star due to Front Desk staff.
Do not stay here. See pics below of shower that does not drain. I was third in line for the shower and there was zero hot water. All issues mentioned in other reviews from past guests. This should not have the Marriott brand on it. Rooms are out dated, and not what I expect from this brand. Do not book this hotel for 3 adults! They will sell it to you and the website says 3 adults but good luck. Although I booked 6 weeks ago on arrival we were given a room with only a king and told all the Deluxe rooms were sold out. These rooms are the rooms with a King bed and sofa sleeper. As the hotel was sold out I got last dibs arriving at 11pm. Sadly although I did mobile check-in YESTERDAY they still did not have a roll away in the room at a minimum. So much for "Elite" status from Marriott. I am a fair reviewer and work in the hotel and travel business. Look through my reviews and you will see I am not unfair. This is a dive sold under the Marriott brand.....I stayed at many Fairfield Inns by Marriott 100 times better. I just came from 7 days in Georgia at a Holiday Inn the would knock your socks off. #Marriott you need to rebrand this hotel or make the owners gut it and start over. Stop selling 3 people in your rooms when your own staff says it causes problems. Time for a reality check for your...
