Chalet Eira — Hotel in Thonon-les-Bains

Highly recommend!!||Simon & Susie of Chalet Eira are just such wonderful people. They are great at what they do. So friendly, helpful and fun. Great with kids (we've two, ages 5 & 6).. We've stayed here a few times now (summer and winter) and the kids are always excited to go back to "Simon's house".||We've just returned from celebrating our own wedding at Chalet Eira. We celebrated with 50 of our closet friends and family. No one had ever been to the area before, but every single one of our guests had nothing but compliments about Eira, Simon, Susie and not forgetting Ashley and Lewis too (and of course Flo the dog was a big hit!). ||We had two nights of dinners prior to the wedding and a BBQ the day after the wedding, all at Chalet Eira. Food was fab 👍||Simon and Susie were amazing with helping to organize the wedding - not once were we concerned about anything. Very professional. Took so much stress away from us by suggesting options, giving ideas and just taking care of things.||Simon even helped with our own firework display the night of the wedding. Nothing was too much or too small for them. (They even made a cake for my sister who celebrated her birthday the night before the wedding!)||I can honestly say that I enjoyed every second of celebrating in Chalet Eira.||||It's a great location, less than 10 mins walk to the old town where there's loads of bars, shops, supermarket etc. Just a stones throw from a bus stop which offers free transport to and from the ski lifts in winter time. ||Fabulous views of the mountains and valley.||Great value.||Rooms very clean, beds are very comfy. Nice large towels. Bathrooms are a decent size. Most rooms have a balcony or terrace.||The bar area is lovely. Nice and cozy. It's Like being in a big comfy living room at home. We have stayed at Chalet Eira previously on a skiing holiday and loved every minute of it, the Chalet, the people and the place, and so decided we would love nothing better than to get married in the Alps, and have the reception at Chalet Eira. From our first tentative enquiry Simon and Suzie (the chalet owners) were so kind and helpful. They have hosted weddings at the Chalet before and were full of suggestions most of which we followed. We had upwards of 60 guests and took over the whole chalet for 7 days of shear fun and pleasure, culminating in the most wonderful wedding day we could ever have imagined. We married up at lake Montriond and then back to the chalet for the reception. The food was fantastic and the setting was stunning, all faultlessly run by Simon and Suzie, and their fantastic staff. The following day we had a hog roast BBQ out on the terrace in the afternoon and chilled out from the previous night of partying. ||We cannot recommend Chalet Eira highly enough. I visited Chalet Eira for four nights for a family wedding. I had no input into the booking, which was arranged by the bride and groom. They could not have picked a better venue. The chalet is family run and the hosts, Simon and Susie, are very welcoming and helpful. Transport was arranged from Geneva airport, a bit over an hour away, and when we arrived, a delicious meal (lasagna) was laid on. The chalet is a few minutes walk from the centre of Morzine but if you don't feel like stretching your legs there's a perfectly adequate bar on the upper level (with a pool table for those who wish to recall their misspent youth). The rooms are fine. Most have access to a balcony, from where one can view the Pleney cable car and watch the paragliders soar above the town. Our wedding party had taken over the whole chalet and the overflow was contained in a neighbouring chalet also owned by the family.
