Summary
My favorite dining out experience of our recent trip to Morzine. Loved my meal, loved the atmosphere and the service was fantastic. I don’t give five stars lightly but Bec Jaune deserves every one of them. Highly recommended.
FOOD Four of us went. Every one of us really enjoyed what we had. I had the vegetarian burger (other vegi options were available but I really fancied a burger). My son had a noodle bowl which had really enjoyed. All of us shared a portion of Oyster Mushroom Nuggets: absolutely delicious. I tried a couple of the beers they brew, you know, for research purposes. Never found a one I didn’t like.
SERVICE While we've experienced fantastic service just about everywhere in Morzine, the team at Bec Jaune Brewery truly stood out. They were friendly, incredibly helpful, and consistently went the extra mile. Our server, who spoke fluent English, was incredibly patient and even let us practice our terrible French, offering what felt like a mini-lesson. When I went in to book, they were wonderfully accommodating of our group's specific needs, allowing me to choose a table in advance. The chap who took the booking even ended up giving me a load of beginner downhill MTB advice (at my request)! Seriously, it was friendly service that went above and beyond at every turn.
ATMOSPHERE I just really liked it here. They had the balance right at each turn. It’s a carefully curated bar without being a cluttered mess. There’s music but it’s good music and doesn’t get in the way of conversation. I...
Read moreJust wrapped up our stay in Morzine with a few pints at Bec Jaune — and wow, what a spot! The food is amazing. The ramen was a highlight: that miso egg completely hit the spot.
Drinks - Top tier, went down faster than Danny Hart on a downhill run in the rain. On tap: a crisp pilsner, solid IPA, decent ale, framboise, and a porter that was a standout — mellow, with a delicious roasted sweetness. Loads of bottled beers too.
Staff were brilliant. Every single person was super friendly and down-to-earth. Big shoutout to the sweet French lady who looked after us (I must apologise for my atrocious attempt at French), and a few British staff who were just as awesome. Being a Brit in Germany, I was honestly shocked at how many Brits are in Morzine — never experienced anything like it!
All in all: great food, interesting drinks, amazing staff. Perfect spot for an after-shred sesh or just chilling with friends....
Read moreThe food was good but extremely pricey for what it is. This Tiny burger you see on the photo costs 15€ for that price I'm expecting chips and salad on the side at no extra cost. Turns out my friend and I spent 42€ there and left feeling hungry. And don't tell me that it's what handmade things cost, I'm in hospitality and have worked with good quality products but always with respectful prices. The atmosphere is nice and all but if you're hungry I wouldn't recommend this place to eat, a little too pretentious on that side. Beer was...
