Worst experience in a hostel iv ever had, a guy came back at 10:30pm and started slamming doors and things in bathroom, he was talking to him self acting aggressively , and occasionally screaming and making weird noises, then he was laying in his bed and smoking cigarettes, and dropping ash all over the ladys belongings below ,me and the other 2 people in room felt extremely unsafe, and I didn't go down to reception then as they probably wouldn't do anything but tell him to not smoke in the room and maybe give him a fine, then I would be stuck in a room with this crazy guy after he knows I told on him and wanted to avoid confrontation as it was also late, he was like one of the undesirable people you see hanging outside of train station that looks sketchy like he's on drugs or something . Then at 6am he woke up and started slamming his locker and belongings and kicked the bathroom door and slamming all the doors and talking to him self aggressively again, once he left the 3 of us went down to reception to complain, the dude working said he was told about a deranged guy who he may have to call the police on or maybe pepper spray, and said cause he was smoking probably be able to kick him out , again why i didnt go complain the night before as they wouldn't of done anything. So the hostel knew about him but didn't kick him out, and put us in a room with this nut job.
Also the smoke alarm didn't go off when he smoked in room, so the hostel would also be unsafe and you would die if there's an actual fire. Find pics below of cigarettes he left on floor
Felt very unsafe and not acceptable to be put in the room with this guy since the hostel knew about it.
This isn't a tourist town, so expect if you stay here to only have weirdos...
Read moreI think I haven't never wrote a review like that before. After a very bad and turbulent week on the way back to UK, we had two breakdown and the second one, almost went like a tragedy. We got stranded in tour and checked around quite few hotels and even explained our situation, and in all the hotels that we knocked on from 1 to 5 star the answer was the same (sorry, checking is only 14:00 or past 14:00) bear in mind this was around 08:00 am and we have been checking for a place since 04:30 in the morning. By the time when we got hold again from the breakdown costumer service , we did reach by walk THE PEOPLE TOURS. And sorting the morning breakfast it was Marion, the lady that we explained very quickly our situation and she very quick told us we have only one room available, but yes by all means we can make available for you right now, perhaps she saw as well how tired we was and also mentioned about the breakfast if we want to have it , which we did rushed in to, soon after a quick shower, also she did help us with some translation back and forwards to our French breakdown cover. We slept all day and the following day we have been served and also helped by Gladys which also was very polite. The People Tour , in my view and experience is very clean, the room was simple but very cozy, also a very good location which easy we got to the train station on our way back home. Breakfast was OK but the most Great experience was the welcome and the simplicity of the staff specially Marion and Gladys in our reception to the People-tours. Thank you ever so much from us Alex and Martin to all of you. To people Tour 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ To The Staff in SPECIAL TO MARION & GLADYS, our Special...
Read moreI actually spent more than on a budget hotel to come here as I thought it would be more sociable. The reception staff are friendly and the bar area is nice. Bike storage is good although the door got left open a lot. The room was small, no problem, and clean, but had no chair and because of a protruding picture on the wall you couldn’t sit lengthways on the bed, only sideways. So in the bedroom you can only lie down or stand, effectively.|Maybe I was unlucky but there was a group of schoolchildren who chatted noisily outside my room to 1130 when the teacher arrived to put them to bed. |The kitchen was very small so it’s not like a uk hostel where most people cook and there’s lots of chat. The “chill out room” was set up as a meeting room, so not so chilled but at least somewhere I could sit down with my laptop, although 4 floors from my room.|Oh and when I went to the restaurant, which looked good, I went in, no staff appeared, there were people eating there. I went to the serving hatch to be told the restaurant was closed. I couldn’t see any notice saying this.|So ok, but not very cosy or...
