Hotel Carpe Diem Gudauri — Hotel in Mtskheta-Mtianeti

To my amazing network and anyone who cares about their loved ones. I love Georgia 🇬🇪 and the people of Georgia. There is this one place in Gudauri which is such a beautiful ski resort that you should avoid at any cost! Trust me when I tell you in the world of AI don’t trust pictures or cheap words.||||Here is what this place is about Hotel Carpe Diem Gudauri:||Booking.com you should do better in verifying the properties you advertise on your website and app. We use you all the time and this place doesn’t deserve to be on your site! ||This hotel is an utter disaster and a disgrace to such a beautiful country Georgia. We arrived with our two boys to spend Christmas here skiing in Gudauri and they have already wasted 2 days of our week! 1- the pictures are completely misleading. You think you are coming to a luxurious, exclusive place, think twice! See pictures attached and check the bad reviews to get a sense of the disastrous situation of the carpets and the facilities 2- the smell you get hit with as soon as you open the room door is unbelievable. 3- NO HOT WATER!!!! It’s Dec and no hot water! The worse part is they knew about it and they knew it will take 3-4 days to fix and they said nothing!!! 4- tiny fridge that’s not working. I had to leave my medication outside on the balcony! 5- breakfast OMG! They claim they are exclusive and charged us premium price for one week!!!! To have a tank of water to be heated ( it wasn’t even hot) and a ball full of instant coffee! The food was the most basic and the hygiene as you see from the pictures are horrendous 6- my husband had to use his inhaler over night because of the strong smell. 7- the pool is half the size you think it is when you see the pictures. 8- if you think the rooms are high standards, think again, it’s not wood, it’s laminate, corners are broken, shades are disgusting! ||We decided to check out after one horrific night and when we raised all the above and asked for refund they refused! So we decided to report this to the police. This is how far we had to go. They claim to be running a high standings hotel but it was the worst experience I can say with certainty I have ever had for the price we had to pay!!! My two boys teenagers were extremely disappointed and heartbroken. This ruined Christmas Eve for us! We have our dear Georgian friends helping us with the situation as I write this feedback to warn you and please share through your social media.||||We had to find a new place and move our things today. We consider this to be good value for money, however, it was our first time in Gudauri (6 nights) and I can't compare to any other 4star hotel in the area. We booked directly, all amount was charged on arrival.

Advantages: room with balcony was ok (nothing extraordinary, view is with mountains ofc), some staff are friendly and helpful (they arranged us an extra curtain as our window was right opposite of the sunrise), the access to the sauna (great after winter sports!) and warm pool was included, breakfast is okay (especially if you don't stay long), loud music from lifts stops at some point in the evening and it's quiet and nice, location is great (walking access to Soliko chairlift and longest green track of the resort, and away from more loud New Gudauri), it's warm in the room and water pressure in the shower is very good. Housekeepers hand out a small water bottle per person each morning. They also have a gear room for storage and locking boxes. The Montis restaurant serves delicious food, at least things we've tried were very good!

Disadvantages: rooms and spa area could be already renovated... Spa lounges made of metal - that's not too relaxing. Also note that the hotel is FAMILY FRIENDLY and they ALLOW LITTLE CHILDREN TO THE SPA!!! Unfortunately, most likely you'll be listening to children playing and screaming in the pool while trying to relax. In other family hotels from my experience they allow 14yo or 16yo to the spa area. I didn't understand why shower in the room didn't have a door, so all water splashed outside each time. It was also a mystery why there was only one curtain in our room that couldn't cover the whole window when we arrived, although it was quickly fixed. Also, in our balcony in the room for two there was only one chair 😀😁 Some staff don't speak English or/and unprofessional in their communication (we received a call at 10pm from a receptionist once because she was sure that we screwed up some towels although it wasn't our room after all). Btw, I apologize for screaming at you, lady, I felt anxious after the call, didn't see you again to say that in person! Breakfast is repetitive and doesn't offer wide choice. Coffee machine constantly had problems, literally every morning people were lining up for coffee because they had to wait for it to be fixed. The Montis restaurant hall is rather small, so most likely you'll be sharing a table with someone else at breakfast. The menu of the restaurant is also limited, not many light healthy or vegetarian...

This so called hotel is an absulate discrace to humanity the following experience shows why : I stayed there for 2 nights -

1- the bathroom is very small there is no space for your legs there wasn’t really much on the first day 2- there is only half curtain so no privacy in the room 3- on the second day we left the hotel for some out side activities we told the reception to clean the room we left at 11::30 and came back at about 5 We come back to see the same mess of the room that when we left we tried to asked the reception why they did not clean the room through phone but guess what they did not answer 👌👌 so I went down at like 5::15 to ask them they told me that they can provide extra towels and complementary water but not clean my bed or the messy floor 💀💀what type of room service was that I talked to them for about an hour and a half And they told there is no staff working ( just brilliant how does an industry work with no staff 💀) after more talking he told to clean the room by myself ( excuse me what ???😄) after some time they figured it out they told 5 min and the room would be clean we waited like 20 min and what he did NOTHING so we asked them again and what seems to feel like an eternity they came and did something at least but did not give glass and the complementary water they told they did not have both afterwards ( what type of industary is this ?) To cover up they decided to bring a jug of water that looked like it was from 1945 and told no bottles are there. after that we went to the restraunt and saw that there were bottles of water 😁😁 4- the hotel restaurant named MONTIS don’t get me started apparently everything is not available 💀 and we sat down waited for somebody to take the order they took everybody’s order apart from us we asked them several times to take the order they kept on telling one minute like we had 10000000 years to live we waited for like 30 min until they finally took the order

-All of the people in this industry are rude -this should not even be be 0.1 stars -the beautiful country of georgia (gudauri) deserves better -Would not recommend this discrace to anyone -I wanted to give 0 but there...
