Pension Marie — Hotel in Berlin

On the whole the pension was OK for the money, clean and in a good neighbourhood, free WiFi, coffee machine and fridge in room (buy your own coffee). The room was quite shabby and old fashioned but I can live with that for the price. I was not told about the kitchen on arrival and it is only now that I read reviews I found out there is a kitchen, where ever it was, it was nowhere near my room and not indicated in room info. ||||But the worst thing was the noise. The gas boiler would start at all times of day and night and was noisy so would wake me up. But on my last night the fire alarm was making a horrendous loud whining noise all night continuously for over 12 hours. ||||Another thing to watch out for is that because the reception is only sporadically open, it's pot luck whether you'll be able to leave and pick up your luggage later on the departure day. The apartment was plain, but really nice and extremely clean. I have spent 2 nights here with other 2 friends and all our beds were comfortable. There was a small shared kitchen and our bathroom was outside the room, but private and again clean.|The place is overall quite, in a nice area very very close to metro station, buses and trams, which make it super easy to move around and visit the city.|The women at the reception desk (which is located close to the apartment, in the same street) were kind and helpful.|Summing up: highly recommended if you are looking for a cheap and nice place to stay for...

i am a touring artist and i always stay here when i visit berlin, which has been several times in the last year. its clean and quiet. I've noticed that the wifi on the street opposite of the office is very weak, so i request to stay on the same side of the office. the staff is friendly. its more like apartments with a shared kitchen area so you will need your own soap and basic necessities..its not a hotel. the price is right and its just perfect for me. ||||also, very very close to the train and its easy to get...
