Lovely hotel very modern and chic and the owner was lovely however the beds were very uncomfortable none of us slept with creaky beds & only one pillow which was not comfortable at all. We ordered food from a Chinese around the corner & had a quiet night in with 2 children and a glass of wine as we was going to the airport early the next morning and this was just a one night stay to experience Berlin. Lovely location but about 30-40 min into centre of Berlin close to tram stops. However we disappointed when we received a phone call from the owner after we left saying we had left the room in a mess and kitchen area and was noisy all night and consumed lots of alcohol this wasn’t the case as we was all in bed asleep by 10pm and only had one glass of wine with our meal in our own room. We did leave two plates and two Bowls In the dishwasher as we couldn’t find dishwasher tablets all rubbish was cleared away and we just felt it was abit judgemental to assume we was loud and drunk in the night bexuase half a bottle of wine was left in the room never the less the owner did apologise and was lovely about this at the end of the conversation. Don’t think we will return due this incident and the uncomfortable beds which is a shame as is a nice place to stay for one or two nights and...
Read moreStayed here for four nights in June. The room was very spacious and the decor/furniture was really nice. The window opened wide to allow enough air in to stay cool in the heatwave. The host honestly couldn't have been nicer, she let us check in early as the room was already ready. The only real issue with the rooms was the pillows are practically non-existent, I had to put several items of clothing under the pillow to make it somewhat substantial and perhaps the TV could be a little bigger as it is very small. But to be fair you dont go on holiday to watch TV so thats not really a big issue. Was slightly apprehensive about the shared bathroom facilities but this was never an issue. Never had to queue or wait. There are three separate rooms essentially with a toilet, sink and shower in each so it does not feel like public toilets. The hotel is within easy reach of the Sbahn, Ubahn and the metro. The location is perfect, close to bars and cafes, public transport and the Schonhauser Alle Arcaden, which is a small shopping centre. So its far enough out of the city that noise at night isnt an issue, but its close enough to get into the city centre in 20mins....
Read moreWe were on our way to the airport to fly out to Berlin from London when I got an email from the Pension cancelling our reservation with no notice ! I immediately rang the Pension and was informed they had been trying to ring me and email me for 3 days with no answer. The receptionist then said she contacted Expedia (who I made the booking through) and was told my account was ‘fake’ and as such she should ‘cancel’ my booking. Utter rubbish. Stressed us out no end. I will be making a formal complaint to Expedia about the appalling behaviour of Pension Absolute Berlin and try and get it barred from advertising on Expedia. Needless to say, if I could give this place a zero...
