Asia Markt — Local services in Berlin

They deserve a review. Over the years, I see their attention to detail and their customers’ preferences and how they really maintain high standards for their little shop! They remove all the wilted parts from the fresh herbs and repack them. They bag the bulk bio tofu and put the rubber band on in that magical way that releases completely only when you pull it just so. They stock bio and high-end green tea as well as fancy modern mochi for the changing upscale demographics of the area. They order frozen chopped garlic when we ask them to. They have pretty much everything you’re looking for except for a couple obscure sauces that I can’t find anywhere anyway. They have such a variety of really every type of thing you want — enough to feel like you have a choice and spend time thinking, but not enough for it to be overwhelming. Then they add new surprising things all the time, packing them efficiently somehow into this tiny finite space they have without crowding the shelves. Somehow they also manage to keep prices reasonable! Great quality and service for money. The owners are extremely rude - I try as much as possible to not shop from that store just because of their obnoxious behavior. Also the state of the store is always chaotic and unsanitary with dust accumulated everywhere. Not even to mention the hilarious state of their outdated fridges which wouldn't be a surprise even if they were to go broken at any moment. Overall, not recommended!

Ps. You can literally see how indifferent they are to customer complaint even from their self-negating reply on this review. Proving their own incompetence...

This is my favourite small Asian supermarket in Berlin because it carries some wonderful goods that you cannot find in large Asian supermarkets such as Vinh-Loi or Go Asia.

The male store owner is such a pleasant person. However his wife who looks very unhappy serving customers and his daughter who make us customers feel like we are disturbing her activities on her mobile phone are the reasons I cannot give this...
