UNSER CAFÉ — Restaurant in Berlin

I’ve been here a few times and have always found it overpriced and overrated for what it is but I’ve always come back because I live close but today will be my last visit ever. An iced latte cost me 6.10€. I’m sorry, are we in NYC where salaries are double or triple what they are here? That’s an insane price for a coffee in Berlin. Even Starbucks is cheaper, which is known for being expensive. I was taken aback by the price but decided to pay anyways. That was a mistake I’ll never make again. However, I paid more for an iced latte than a regular latte and would expect o get more than 2 measly ice cubes. So I politely asked if I could have one or two more and the barista freaked out, threw his ice shovel into the bucket and raised his voice saying “I DONT HAVE ANY MORE ICE.” It was very uncomfortable and the other guests also felt comfortable by the looks of their faces… I’ll never go back even tho it’s a neighborhood spot. Thanks, no thanks. So not worth the...

Recently there was an unpleasant incident with a very arrogant attitude of the staff towards me and my guests. I booked a table for 8 people and we were completely ignored: no one even came to wipe the table. When we asked how to make an order, we were told that we need to stand in the general queue that goes from the street! When I asked how long we would have to wait, because the flow of people from the street did not stop, the waitress nervously took out a piece of paper on which I and my guests wrote what we wanted to order! I will never come back here again and will not recommend this cafe to anyone.

On March 21, 2023, I received a letter - a complaint from the owners of the cafe. As if I (and my guests, respectively, too) were never there! They try to intimidate, citing laws, threatening a lawsuit. And this is instead of working on improving the service.

Just skip this place, there are much better...

Terrible! They automatically tip themselves for any card payment adding 1/2 Eur to your bill. Shame on you Unser Café! The service is so slow and phlegmatic it doesn't deserve any tip, rather a discount. It's full of bored moms with a one-page recipe for their lauwarm latte with a little bit of this and that and who know what their creativity comes out with that it takes forever to get something even just for takeaway. Zero awareness on the customer needs. The bread is gummy as if it's old even when is not. The Pastel de Nata (kinda their speciality) are nowhere close to what they are suppose to be. Cakes are average. Price are off the roof. And again you automatically tip yourself? A tip is a costumer choice not a default! And if I pay contactless is because I don't want to touch your card device to deselect the default tip!...
