The service was so lovely I feel bad writing this. I had veggie enchiladas and a Cancún Caipirinha; my partner had chicken enchiladas and a beer. The veggie enchiladas were a little colder than lukewarm and were filled with what tasted to me like an Indian curry (a greenish-yellow Indian-curry-flavoured sauce and veggies with a texture like frozen veggies—carrots and broccoli mainly). On the side were refried beans, sour cream, and guacamole, plus a yellow rice that looked more like what I get at Indian restaurants than what I’ve had in Mexican ones. It still tasted okay and I was so hungry and they were so friendly I didn’t feel comfortable complaining, but two days later I’m still thinking about the strange combo. My drink was also disappointing. For the price (7.50€) I was expecting a strong, flavourful cocktail. It was okay, but not great. It felt like they’d added water to the mix, as the lime flavour was really watered down and had that sort of watery taste I can’t quite describe. The cocktails did look lovely and I was looking forward to getting a few when I first got there, but after the first one and the disappointing meal I decided to cut my losses and go somewhere else. My partner’s chicken enchiladas were warmer and tasted a bit more like traditional Mexican food at least, but neither of us were too happy with our food. I’m totally baffled by the high rating to be honest… It’s not easy to find good Mexican food in Berlin, but every other Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in Charlottenburg is better than this one… Like I said, the service was super friendly, and I’ll add that the atmosphere was also nice… If you just want nachos and a beer I’m sure it’s fine. But I would strongly advise against going here if you’re looking for high-quality Mexican food—especially if...
Read moreThe cocktails were the best part, as the flavors here were not close to authentic. The veggie enchilada had flavors of curry spice, and our other enchilada didn't quite hit the mark for Mexican flavors. We were served an incorrect dish and while the waiter at first argued, they did correct the mistake. Good Mexican is elusive in Germany, but there are places that come a little closer than this one.
Edit: my review has twice been flagged for Google, who later approved the posting both times. This certainly does not prove anything, and the restaurant's low number of 1 and 2 star reviews could completely be reflective of their quality. I've also never had a review questioned or reported, much less twice. I value restaurants that are part of a community and are trying hard to make it, and I won't return to this...
Read moreWe came here as part of a group for lunch and enjoyed our meals very much. The service was good and the food served promptly. This is not like a typical Mexican restaurant in the States where copious amounts of chips and sauces are served prior to the meal, so do not expect that type of experience. I give this restaurant four stars instead of five only because the prices are higher than other local restaurants that can deliver a comparable experience at a better price point. If budget is no issue and you are in the mood for this style of food, then you should be very satisfied with your experience here. Lots of outdoor seating,...
