Avoid at all costs. Please note that none of the following applies to the hotel staff who were as helpful as they were able throughout my truncated stay. First impressions – self check in is a nightmare. I had to enter all (and I do mean all) the personal details for all guests at a PC in reception. Slow, badly designed and required the receptionist to complete. Hate to think of the delays at a busy time. Both the reception and bar area look as inviting as an office canteen with cheap furnishing and bad lighting. One of the worst hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Op-art vinyl flooring like a psychiatric experiment (wipe clean in case of induced vomiting), cheap pseudo-hip wall fixings and a single plastic chair the only seating. Virtually no space to hang clothes and only a tiny ledge near the TV to put anything on. I’d booked the superior room but this just seemed to mean more floor space as someone has forgotten to install any furnishings. Single tiny window and no decor all added to the feeling of being in a holding facility. I would have had better words for the bathroom since the shower was serviceable until I discovered there are no hooks to hang towels, no glasses (had to ask at reception if required) and the bathroom light shines through the frosted mirror into the room to wake anyone who may be sleeping. Although given the pillows provided sleeping is unlikely! I had to ask at reception for any alternative only to be told that the hotel only had one type of pillow but was offered a quilt I could roll up. The only fortunate event occurred the next day when I noticed a note in the lift stating that the water & heating would be turned off the following day from 4am to 8 pm for maintenance. Seizing my chance, I demanded a refund for my remaining nights and checked out. To summarise, an overpriced, cynical cost cutting exercise unable to deliver the...
Read moreI can definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay if you’re looking for the best price-value option. Located close to the city center (20 minutes calm walk), 5 minutes to the train station Dresden Mitte, from where within an hour and half you can also explore for example Bastei bridge. Even though my room was looking to the tram street, it was quiet enough to sleep even with the open window (when closed it’s absolutely quiet). The People who’re working there are very helpful, many thanks to Victoria, I really felt like I’m super welcomed here, even though it was my first stay. Rooms are very clean, the hotel is quite new (at least from my personal feeling). Enough space to stay for 2-3 nights. Area is calm and safe even at night. The only one point, which definitely needs improvements is pillows - for me it was disaster, too high, when you try to «blow off” it putting all your weight on, it makes funny sound like “pshhhhhh”, but then in a minutes it goes back to the highest height and it’s really hard to sleep on it. (That’s why only 4 stars for rooms, good sleep is critically important for all the travellers, so I definitely recommend to change the pillows, OR, to create a choice for guests, when they can ask for a...
Read moreMy wife and I spent two nights at Radisson Prize in Dresden in July. We were given a nice room with a small balcony. The hotel was quite modern and clean, a type of design hotel. Let me also add the smart stow away place for the luggage under the bed. However, we missed a small table which could act as a kind of working place. Necessary toilet articles were at hand.||In check and out check was simple and fast. Breakfast was good with multiple choices of both warm and cold dishes. We especially appreciated the "butter automate" which helps to save butter. Coffee was good as was the juice. ||There was no restaurant, only a breakfast room, which could have been a little larger as it seemed that the hotel was fully booked, and therefore a little crowded in the room.||The location in the Mitte meant that we needed about thirty minutes to reach the old city by walking on foot. However, not far from the hotel there is a tram and a local train station where frequent trams and trains in the direction to the centre of the city, were available.||The room was reasonable with breakfast included. We felt we were given good value for money, and can recommend it if you not need to stay in the centre of Dresden.||Henry J Grindheim,...
