Rote Flora is a long-standing squatted art space that’s served as a home for a variety of events that includes everything from community meetings to art exhibitions and beyond. Defiant in the face of expansive gentrification, the former theater remains an institution for the resistance in the Sternschanze neighborhood, where rents have steeply risen since the ’00s. The music is very cool but the lung cancer is not. They tell you at the door no hard drugs, but the most deadly drug of them all - smoking - is perfectly fine indoors, even though it impacts the health of those who don't want to pollute their lungs. Get with the times people! Beautiful graffiti place but understanding from a person living in Hamburg here lots of protests are happening, mostly by extreme left political activists.

We did not go inside, just walked around the building. In the back there is a skate park which is now full with graffiti as well, gorgeous scene!

In the porch of the building, lots of homeless are sleeping and asking for money. Not the most pleasant place to be in Hamburg...

We did not go inside, just walked around the building. In the back there is a skate park which is now full with graffiti as well, gorgeous scene! In the porch of the building, lots of homeless are sleeping and asking for money. Not the most pleasant place to be in Hamburg but beautiful.

We didn’t go inside. It is a political activist community center, or at least that is what we read. Can be a bit intimidating. There are homeless beds in front of the theater, they look nice and cool and chill. Do check the graffiti in the back park. Amazing!

We didn’t go inside. It is a political activist community center, or at least that is what we read. Can be a bit intimidating. There are homeless beds in front of the theater, they look nice and cool and chill. Do check the graffiti in the back park. Amazing!
