Stay away from this place, especially if you are a family with children. Most of the employees are nice (thank you Suzanne, you are amazing, and thank you the female receptionist who brought ice to my room 2 times in the middle of the night when my daughter was burning in fever) but they have one whose name I fail to get who acted like a completely…(you name it). The manager knows exactly who it was when she read this review because she was present in part of the scene he caused. I have asked him to help me place collect a call to my travel insurance, as my daughter was sick and the phone in the room doesn’t make outside calls. He said he didn’t know how to do it (weird, as I think dealing with the phone is one of the things he should know hot to do, but okay). I got the instructions on Google and showed it to him. He ignored what I said (he was very sexist) and placed a regular call on the phone and handed it to me. I asked him if that was a collect call and he said Yes. A few hours later when I was doing the check out, he said he was going to charge me for the call. I told him I was not going to pay for it, because I had asked him especially to place a collect call. I gave him the instructions to do it and he ignored it. He yelled at me that what I was saying didn’t make any sense. The manager stepped it to say they were going to charge me, but only if the phone company charged them, if not, they would refund me. They charged my card while the employee yelled at me in the lobby. I was outraged by their behavior. I was placing a medical call (he heard me talking to the insurance). And told him how to make a collect call. He did what he did on purpose and the manager didn’t say a word. I won’t stay in this hotel anymore. They lost a Customer over an insignificant amount of money and that’s a shame. I will contest the charge, not because of the amount as it is not going to make any difference for me, but because of their...
Read morei booked this hotel so it would be convenient for my colleague to pick me up on the way to the office (i was there on business trip), so i didnt really choose but it was a good hotel. Nothing fancy though. the room was OK, nicely renovated. no mini fridge though. ||One problem: the blinds were very loud at night; the wind wasnt really strong but it was enough to make them slap on the wall outside. So i thought by keeping them opened, i would sleep. not only it didnt change anything, but it was very bright in the room (outside lights at night and then sunrise) so i had to sleep with an airline mask and some earbuds. Not cool||THe TV channels list wasnt impressive if you dont speak German, but i managed with the french channels. ||The breakfast was below par. I requested sunny side up eggs and they brought me over-cooked and over-dry smashed eggs. next day, i tried to explain i wanted them fried, and i got sunny side up eggs. So it was just a lost on translation issue. Apart from the eggs, the rest isnt very exciting or diverse. But OK if you like dry pastries||The staff was friendly and their communication skills in English were good. ||there is only one elevator, so be prepared to wait long time||I would return again, just with lower...
Read moreThe hotel building was constructed in the 1960s or something. But it has a modern interior. You have to reserve a parking slot before the arrival because there aren't too many free ones. And better not arrive with a huge car because you have to park in a garage which is the same age as the hotel and at that time, the cars were much smaller and shorter (I was not able to close the garage door, just saying) The room was tiny, but clean and modern and since you are not staying in a hotel room for more then sleeping it's okay. The bathroom was also clean. Things which weren't that nice were the barkeeper, because the guy was the same as the receptionist, so he had two jobs which led to the fact that the bar was almost empty, but he did the best to serve everybody. The breakfast wasn't that good, okay everything was there coffee, orange juice, jam, cold cuts... but the bun were horrible, they were chewy like being more then 2 days old. But there were also croissants available which made it survivable.
Hint.: If you reserved a parking slot, arrive at the hotel from the "Knorrstraße" and park right behind the hotel, otherwise you might have to do several rounds...
