Mike's Place — Hotel in Antiparos Municipality

In the evening the lamps on Paros and the small ferry that's sailing between Pounta (on Paros) and Antiparos make it feel like something out of a science-fiction movie. The honesty, sincerety and friendliness of the people that live there move me every time I go back. We found an apartment on a spot right on the beach with no road in front (so only the birds, the sea, the beach and the silence) with an extremely nice lady called Lillian, who rents studios, apartments and rooms at a good price (cheap!!). It's called Mike's Place and she has the best views in Antiparos village. If you are on the ground floor you have a terrace in the garden and if you are on the first floor you have a balcony, and a big table where you can have breakfast, or just a drink. You can also go and sit on the pier in front of the house and be in the middle of the sea. It's very likely I'll be your neighbour, because this is a place I return to almost every year. :). Quiet, comfortable and close to everything (the beaches, the restaurants, the supermarkets, te bakery, the ferries). The only positive that i can say about Mikes Place is the location (10-15 min walk from the main road of the island) and the atmosphere of the rooms.|First of all the lady (70-80 years old) that owns the place did a mistake about the dates that we asked for and she throw us to another hotel for 1 day. |Also she asked for 30% more money from the one that we agreed over the phone.|The beds are terrible and also we had a lot of light coming into our room in the morning.|She didn't offer any breakfast, shampoos and also she didn't change the towels not even once over the 4 days we stayed.|The wifi didn't work at all - but this is not a big problem for me because you are on vacation.|The sea in front of the rooms was really dirty.|My conclusion is that this lady is completely unprofessional and she just wants to take your money without offering anything. Unfortunately Antiparos doesn't have a lot of rooms to stay at, and thats the reason why these kind of hotels...

Went to Mike's Place in June. Lillian is a lovely lady ( her age is irrelevant) who leaves you alone but is there when you need her to be. We had a problem with A/C and a light bulb needed changing and both these things were dealt with immediately . Rooms were spotless, cleaned every day. Did not expect toiletries or breakfast ( previous reviewers complaint ) as this is not part of self catering accommodation. Our stay was really good. Only thing we did not like was small balcony and access through a small door.
