Originally I was attracted to Argo as it had nice reviews and was excellent value, definitely a win. However I was truly impressed.||Upon arrival we were greeted by the entire family and shown to our room, but, Thanasis looked at my friend and I and suggested an alternative larger room to us, as a straight swap, we took it, great choice! ||Good sized beds, good shower, all very clean, there is a tv, not that we turned it on. And plenty of storage for clothes etc. Plus a good sized fridge, kettle and mugs.||Our room was cleaned every day, and bless her she insisted on putting the beds back together and arranging anything we left out beautifully, made me feel bad if I left my shoes out! Can’t commend her more for the effort she put in by herself!||We ate down in the taverna a couple of times, and before I mention the food, I can’t stress enough how soundproof the rooms are, often we had no idea there was anyone in the taverna until we opened the door and suddenly the noise hit us! Big bonus.||Food was great, the staff were all so lovely and inviting, and it felt like home cooking with family and again when you’re away from the high street the prices are much better.||Plenty of parking for bikes/quads and cars next to the hotel, plus 2 minutes walk to the closest beach and 5 minutes amble to town. ||I will be staying here the next time I visit this beautiful island. Thankyou to Thanasis and...

Read moreThis is a beautiful, family-run place with good food. Guess what though ... I don't care. Because the place is not that beautiful to spend almost 2 hours waiting to be served. As about the food, by the time it arrived, I was no longer hungry... I waited for 40 minutes for someone to take an order. During this time they had not even brought water or asked for our drinks order. Whatever, it was busy. I ordered one salad, a skewer, kritharoto, and fried courgettes and a beer i.e. nothing complicated. The beer arrived after 15 minutes. The salad after one hour. At that point, I complained to one of the young waiters, who was very kind and apologetic (poor boy was running up and down). I explicitly told him "if food is not ready can I please pay for what I have consumed?". He said he would speak to the manager/owner. Nothing happened for quite a while. Eventually (we are now over 1,5 hours into my wait) the skewer and kritharoto arrive. This time it was the manager/owner who brought them without uttering a single word of apology. Courgettes never arrived - though they were charged and had to ask them to remove from the bill. When the manager/ owner came for us to pay again not a single apology. What...
