Unfortunately, our stay at this accommodation was marred by a distressing incident involving the shower door, which shattered as we opened it one evening. The hosts—along with their family—insisted that we had broken it deliberately, which was both upsetting and insulting. A quick Google search shows that these types of doors can shatter spontaneously, particularly if not properly maintained. Regular checks of the rollers, tracks, and seals can help prevent this kind of failure.
To be absolutely clear: the door broke on its own, without any undue force on our part. Despite this, we were asked to contribute to the replacement cost, which we found unreasonable given the circumstances.
What was especially upsetting is that the hosts and their family were deeply disrespectful toward my wife throughout the situation. I only learned the full extent of this afterwards, when she was able to translate the comments that had been made in Greek. One of the family members even told her to “be careful with her sunglasses in case they break and we blame them for it.” This comment was extremely offensive and completely inappropriate! Their tone, attitude and behavior cast a shadow over our entire stay in Kefalonia.
On a separate note, I personally left a tip for the restaurant staff at Captain's Table and made it clear that it was intended for the waiters—specifically the morning shift and Panayiotis on the evening shift. I truly hope the tip was passed on to them, as it was not intended for the...
Read moreBeautiful accommodation located in the center if Argostoli. Our room (B2) was pretty spacious and we also had a huge balcony where we enjoyed our mornings/evenings. The apartment is very cute, modern, clean, well equipped, and what I especially liked, was bathroom.
Location is perfect, within walking distance from the main square with lots of reastaurants and bars, and main shopping street in Argostoli. It's very quiet at night so you can sleep without any problems. Only on Saturdays the music is a bit louder, because it's Saturday and I totally understand that, but even that stops around 2am. Not sure if it's any different during the peak season, but in September, in general it's really quiet at night.
The only thing that we were missing were coffee mugs, so we went to the first store and bought 2, so we don't have to drink coffee from tall glasses, and I'd suggest to put a bigger trash can in the kitchen :)
Overall, great apartment, great location and staff is very kind. I highly...
Read moreGreat place to stay in Argostoli due to its distance to main square where most stuff is within walking distance. It was clean, rooms are mostly new and have most things people would need. Parking is available as free public parking but it might be a bit difficult to find a spot in high season in periods when everyone comes back to city. The only negative side is that we got room which is not as shown on currently available images so I'll upload mine as well. Problem with that one is that the toilet is not nice as in other rooms (toilet seat is within shower) and therefore it's -1 star due to it. Other than that is that this room is a bit cramped in a way it's long and narrow so there is not a lot of space for luggage and also if you open curtains from windows there is no privacy due to this lack of width. I would still recommend it to everyone in search of stay in Argostoli just try not to get this room...
