Louisa Apartments — Hotel in Argostoli Municipality

We stayed in The Louisa from 13th to the 20th June 2015 after not having visited Kefalonia for 20 years. Louisa is in a back street some 100m from the beach so is perfectly placed for a relaxing break in the laid back, friendly port of Poros.We were met upon arrival by Theodoro, the property manager whose assistant showed us to the ground floor studio number 11. The room was clean and tidy with the standard twin beds and added extras including a table and 4 chairs and an armchair, which is unusual for this type of accommodation plkus, unusually, Air Con included.There is a 2 ring electric cooker and ample crockery and cooking equipment if you should be inclined to cook on holiday. However, the selection of cutlery provided would be improved by a review of just what is in the drawer. Ours, for example, did not include a single knife but 2 massive spatulas! The room was of the basic Greek style of 20 years ago with no electric kettle which meant that we had to boil the water for tea in the tea/coffee pot which took 10 - 15 minutes. The shower was of the one handed, hold it above your head type which resulted in the normal practice of paddling around in 1/2" of water on the bathroom floor until I rigged the shower head up to be hands free with a rubber bangle.Nothing wrong with the accommodation except for it being a little outdated and in need of some work to repair the various wardrobes etc which had doors hanging off etc. Despite the pictures on the home page you will rarely find anyone on the reception so be prepared.All in all a nice place to stay, needing some TLC from the owners as it is quite a bit removed from the website which must have been first posted some time ago. Also be aware that NONE of the rooms or the apartments have sea views due to the location.When we stayed there was no other guests so it was fairly quiet except for passing traffic and the manager presented us with a gift when we left which was a very kind thought. Unfortunately, our experience in this apartment was very disappointing. One day there was no hot water, another day there was no cold water, and we were without electricity for about 12 hours. The air conditioning was not working from the very beginning, which was extremely uncomfortable in the summer heat. La struttura si trova al centro di Poros, una delle località più turistiche di Cefalonia. L'appartamento si compone di un bagno, pulito ma molto spartano, un angolo cottura, con lo stretto indispensabile, e una camera da letto molto ampia. Nulla da dire sulla pulizia, davvero ottima. La struttura è molto curata nella parte esterna e nei giardini mentre le camere sono un pò datate ma a quella cifra (30 euro a notte la prima settimana di Agosto) davvero non si può chiedere di più. I proprietari, che gestiscono anche un piccolo market, sono davvero delle persone molto cordiali e simpatiche. Se dovessi tornare a Poros sicuramente prenderei in considerazione l'eventualità di soggiornare qui.
