I would highly recommend against staying here. They advertise as having air conditioning but control it and only turn it on for a few hours in the morning. When we arrived our room was 40 degrees inside and when we turned the air conditioning on it just blew warm air. The refrigerator was not turned on so we had to go buy ice to keep our groceries cold. The room was so hot we couldn’t sleep, even with the patio doors open. We tried to book another accommodation but it was such a busy week we could not find anything in our price range on the whole island. |We asked the owner about the air conditioning and he said he turns the air conditioning off overnight because he is waiting for a part to come from Italy. After we asked multiple times he agreed to keep the AC on at night but again on the last night we had to go ask again as it was turned off. ||The master bedroom had such a strong smell of cigarette smoke, which was only exacerbated by the heat in the room. The bathroom smelled like sewage. ||The positive are the...
Read moreWe stayed at Odysseus Palace and had a great experience. Bill (the owner) is a very kind and charismatic person who made you feel welcome and also really put an effort into making sure you had everything you need. The staff there was very helpful, sweet and accommodating ex. by making a sandwich for us even though the kitchen was closed as we arrived very late. It’s an old hotel that surely could use an upgrade several places but it’s well kept, clean and most importantly the air conditioning worked as the temperature outside was very high. Poros is a small village and very local so generally in my experience all places there were older so this is what to be expected when visiting a small Greek town. You are not finding gentrified areas and new buildings which to me is part of the charm. All in all we had a great stay and felt taken care of by everyone...
Read moreMy two sons and I stayed here in April 2016 and had a wonderful visit. We stayed in a suite accessed by its own staircase on the second floor and the place was immaculate with a little kitchen that allowed us to prepare our own breakfast. The hotel is well located, just steps from the port with an excellent artopoleio (bakery) next door.||||We had dinner in the restaurant where we met Andreas, the owner of the hotel, who regaled us with stories from his years in New York City. We were served a perfectly delicious pizza and salad and went to bed and slept soundly in our peaceful room.||||Andreas and his wife are incredibly welcoming and warm and we heartily recommend this hotel for your next...
