We spent 6 nights at Pantelis in Poros, Kefalonia. Rooms have a sea view, which is exactly what we wanted. They were cleaned and kept fresh everyday.||||The location is excellent as it is a short walk from the port (about 300m), close to a bus stop, and right across the street from the beach. Arriving by ferry at the port, you just need to head right, walk over a small hill, and then you reach Poros square, where the hotel is.||||The host "Julia" and her family were very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. She was ever ready to advise us on all what we needed, from the bus timing, to visiting villages, to hitch-hiking, up to "take a jacket, its cold at night in Agios Gerasimos".||||Poros is ideal for a quiet vacation away from tourist crowds, and ideal for families as well. It is also a good spot to visit Markopoulo village and see the holy snakes.||||PS: This hotel is in the town of Poros on the Ionian island of Kefalonia, not to be confused with the Argosaronic island of Poros (next to Aegina and Hydra)....

Read moreI recommend that Pantelis create a separate Google location for their restaurant. This map location is structured for a hotel type review. So here’s the review of their restaurant. We came to Pantelis as a party of six for dinner. We had a reservation and they seated us at a lovely table along the Poros waterfront adjacent to the main square / platia. They have an extensive menu and a special section for vegetarian options. I ordered the vegetarian carbonara pasta. It was very tasty and came with mushroom, onions and green bell peppers. It was a generous size and it came to the table piping hot. Three people at our table ordered the beef kokkinsto, and each one of them ate every bite. One had the pork steak and another said their fish was very good. We shared Greek salads and pita before the meal, and had local Lixourian Beer and local Robola wine. As typical, it was a slow relaxing meal service with plenty of time to talk and enjoy each others’ company on a lovely Kefalonian evening with cool seaside breezes. I can recommend for a group with meat eaters and non meat...
