Let me start by saying, I do NOT usually write negative reviews but this was a MUST for me! As a General Sales Manager of Brooklyn Volkswagen USA this review is toward Mr. Baganis and Mrs Koulouroudi. Only reason I am naming managers is because you are the 2 that answer these reviews and most always have an answer and sometimes for everything negative that occurs here at your hotel. This is the first time on your island and ofcourse We chose the newest and most expensive of stays on A ONE DAY visit on a weekday in September. Upon arrival the Hotel has a beautiful design and landscape and the staff is welcoming. Now we get to where everything went BAD! WE arrived around 12:30 pm and were told the room would not be ready till 3pm which is apx 1 hour past the normal 2pm checking which was okay. We returned around 3:30pm and upon final check in I kindly requested late check out of 1pm if possible since our flight was 5pm and check was 3pm. We were told they would let us know. Within the hour we received a call and were told that we can only stay till 12pm. I walked down to reception and asked why was there a big deal for the extra hour ??? I was told because they are capacity which is a lie. There were NO MORE THAN 10 PROPLE the entire day at the pool yesterday and even as I write this review from the balcony at 10m, literally there is not a soul at the pool. Apparently the staff needed time to prepare the rooms.I asked again 2 hours should be more then enough to clean a room. RESPONSE FROM STAFF: Its not only 1 room! I said that's funny, is everyone checking out tomorrow Tuesday and did everyone ask for a late check out? Response from STAFF: ITS OUR POLICy! If its your policy than 11am check out should be your answer! Please do not tell me you tried to accommodate as best as possible. I run a MULTI MILLION DOLLAR OPERATION! YOU EITHER HAVE A POLICY OR YOU DONT! NO EXCUSES!! I asked to pay for the EXTRA TIME!! RESPONSE FROM FRONT DESK: ITS NOT A MATTER OF MONEY! I politely said keep your extra hour, its not about the hour, its about accommodating a guest. ONE ROOM!!! Getting past this, later that evening upon return from dinner, we called reception for Ice, since there is NO ICE MACHINE OR ANY AVAILABLE ICE ON THE PREMISES! RESPONSE FROM FRONT DESK: BAR AND RESTAURANT IS CLOSE THERE IS NO ICE AVAILABLE !!! GETTING PAST THIS!! I REQUESTED IN WRITTING BREAKFAST TO BE SENT TO THE ROOM FOR 2 which btw is included in the price of your saty! NOW I KNOW WHY! WHAT A JOKE!! SPECIFICALLY YOUR MENU ON BOTH CHOICES STATES! BREAKFAST ROLLS, FRESH BREAD, CROSSAINTS, FRESH FRUIT, VEGETABLES, COFFEE. We received prepackaged toast bread, a bowl with a full apple, pear and 🍊 not peeled, not cut, a bowl of cherry tomatoes, a full plate of mushrooms, pickles, crackers etc. JOKE! WE THOUGHT IT WAS SOMEONE ELSES ORDER! LOL I TOOK THE TRAY DOWN TO THE FRONT DESK AND ASKED WHAT WAS THIS? RESPONSE FROM FRINT DESK: This is NOT what you ordered? I walked away. I received a call from manager of some sort trying to explain to me that i ordered gluten-free breakfast! SERIOUSLY GUYS ARE YOU JOKING ME! THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL OR A 5 STAR SERVICE BY FAR! I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE I KNOW. I WILL POST THIS IN OUR EMPLOYEE FORUM AT VOLKSWAGEN USA. YOU ARE THE NEWEST HOTEL, YOU CERTAINLY HAD AMPLE TIME TO WORK OUT KINKS! UNACCEPTABLE! MR. BAGANI AND MRS. KOULOUROUDI, THERE IS NO NEED TO TRY TO ANSWER THIS POST, THIS IS PRECISLY WHAT TRANSPIRED IN THE LESS THEN 24 HOURS OF OUR STAY! WHICH BY THE WAY, WHEN YOU BOOK A ONE DAY STAY CHECK IN 3PM CHECKOUT 11AM IS NOT A DAY STAY IT IS A 20 HOUR STAY 😀! AN UNBELIEVABLE HORRIBLE 20 HOUR STAY! THERE ARE REAL 5 STAR HOTELS NEAR BY LIKE CHANDRIS, WHICH BY THE WAY I HAVE STAYED IN ATHENS 7 TIMES AND HVE VIP SERVICE! AGAINST MY BETTER JUDGMENT, I BOOKED ROYAL PEARL! I TRULY HOPE YOU TEND TO THESE ISSUES BECAUSE IT IS A SHAME THE MONEY THAT WENT IN TO THE BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPE OF THIS...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Pearl Island Hotel in Chios, and I can't recommend it highly enough!
From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome of the staff and the stunning design of the hotel, which is truly unique and can easily compete with some of the top hotels around the world. The blend of modern luxury with traditional Greek elements is both sophisticated and inviting.
My room was immaculate... clean spacious, and with all the amenities i could need! The bed was also extremely comfortable! One of the highlights of my stay was the incredible walk-in pool, which provided a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere. The pool area was well-maintained and the pool bar made it an ideal place to unwind and relax.
The hotel’s spa is another standout feature. It offers a range of treatments that are perfect for anyone looking to indulge and relax. I treated myself to a massage, and it was one of the most rejuvenating experiences I've ever had.
Dining at the hotel's restaurant was also an absolute delight. The menu features a range of delicious dishes, but the star of the show was the chicken main course with orange sauce. It was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour – an absolute must-try! Breakfast each morning was also fantastic, with a wide selection of fresh, local options to start the day off right.
The bar also deserves a special mention as well. The cocktails were superb, with the Old Fashioned being a personal favourite. The bartenders clearly know their craft.
The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the beautiful island of Chios, being in a central location just a few minutes from the main town of the island - yet the hotel feels like a tranquil retreat. It offers an excellent balance of convenience and relaxation.
Pearl Island is the perfect choice for anyone seeking luxury, comfort, and a truly memorable experience. I can't wait to return and highly recommend as THE best place to stay for anyone...
Read moreThis hotel has the highest online rating on Chios Island, but naturally, it's also the most expensive. We checked in during the evening, at the moment we stepped through the entrance, we were greeted by a breathtaking view of a vibrant sunset over the distant mountains behind the hotel - truly awe-inspiring! The hotel opened in the summer of 2024 and currently operates with only half of its rooms available. The ground-floor rooms offer direct access to the pool. The rooms are spacious, with very large bathrooms. A highlight of the rooms is the two extremely comfortable single sofas. The hotel provides a gym and a parking lot. The breakfast is also quite lavish compared to mid-to-high-end hotels in Greece. The service is exceptionally warm and welcoming. Now, for the drawbacks. The hotel's location is quite far from the city center, making it inconvenient to travelers. While the standard rooms are large enough, they lack attention to detail, leading to inconveniences. For example, there's no luggage rack, so you have to place your suitcase on the floor. The bathroom is spacious but there's only one hook and it lacks towel racks, forcing you to place clean underwear on the bath-towels which are left on the floor. There's no vanity counter; the only sink edge is already occupied by the hotel's toiletries, leaving no space for quests' personal items. The spare toilet paper takes up the handrail next to the toilet. Most frustratingly, the hotel follows a common Greek design tradition - an open-style shower with no barrier, allowing water to splash everywhere unchecked, even soaking the towels placed on the opposite side of the floor (with your underwear if you put it over there). Since the hotel serves not only local but also international guests, why nor offer a shower curtain as an option? Despite these issues, as a newly opened hotel, I believe it will see many improvements by the...
