Mpoukia Mpoukia — Restaurant in Chios Municipality

Our family of 6 went there this week and were seated at an inside table- waitstaff never delivered water and only gave us menus begrudgingly. After half an hour of staff seeing us and continuing to ignore us, we left. We were a normal group- grandparents, parents, well behaved older kids- no idea why they wouldn’t serve us or really acknowledge us. We watched three adjacent tables who arrived after us get served. We won’t go back and will certainly tell others- family and friends live here. Doesn’t make sense to seat people if you’re not going to serve them. There seemed to be a conversation between staff, and wonder if they were told not to serve us, because the table could have accommodated two more people. Were they trying to generate more revenue by hoping we would leave more quickly? Hard to know for sure. If that was the reason they lost twice: table of 6 hungry people who waited 30 minutes, and now sharing experience with all local family. It was just extremely bad business. If hungry try one of the many other nearby restaurants such as The Pastards, Cardaman, Otra Rota, La Bussola. You will certainly be treated more respectfully and food is delicious at those...

This was the only disappointing place in chios for us. The service was extremely inefficient and slow on saturday evening. Even salad we ordered came 20 minutes late. Except salad, everything we ordered was not great at all. We ordered fried zucchini, instead it came as mushroom. The fried zucchini came really late because of it, one salad was forgotten at the end of the night. Both fried stuff was so badly made, we could not eat. Even fried feta with honey and ouzo was sadly disappointing. I would not recommend this...

Not enough good things can be said about this restaurant. The food, superb just like the service. Try the mustelo cheese, the shrimp in tomato sauce with feta (you're welcome), the schnitzel with fries, and their Greek salad. All amazing! They also give you a lemon yogurt and cracker crumble after your meal. And the prices are so reasonable!!
