This family run hotel is just great. The rooms are cleaned every day and at breakfast there was something for everyone. They do evening meals too, which we sampled a couple of times and they were as good as any restaurant. Cannot do this review without a mention of the wonderful staff, mainly Sophia and Despina, for whom nothing is too much trouble. Their mantra is “we only want you to be happy” and they will do whatever it takes. Unsolicited, they offered us umbrellas when it rained and walking sticks for hiking. They can converse on any subject, have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area and were extremely helpful, far more so than the reps or tourist information. ||Only one thing is puzzling and this may be a Thomas Cook thing and that is why there are different room rates. A “no view” room cost no extra, a “land view” room cost extra and a “pool view” was the most expensive. All rooms seemed the same to us.||This did not detract however from the friendliness and hospitality of the hotel and the wonderful staff. They really do seem to care and our holiday would not have been as inter sting and enjoyable without them||Linda and Martin (who hiked the...
Read moreThoroughly enjoyable stay at Villa Drosos. All staff (and fellow guests) were personable, smiley and incredibly accommodating throughout our stay. Rooms are cleaned daily and the Villa is kept well maintained and tidy throughout.|||| The villa offers several personal touches and provided an earlier breakfast on our day of departure and water for the journey.||||The breakfast buffet was always well stocked and included a variety of homemade cakes, crepes and pastries as well as typical continental and warm breakfast items.||||The pool area is lovely; well stocked with a variety of chairs and loungers and a small, crisp freshwater pool. The Villa is always peaceful and the surroundings fairly residential- although it could be improved with extending the pool opening hours in the late afternoon sun to enable full day use of the facilities.||||Location wise, Litochoro is a small town with a sufficient variety of restaurants and small shops for a weeks stay. A good range of beaches, the mountains and other attractions always require a car or taxi...
Read moreWe stayed here for two nights while climbing Mount Olympus. We couldn’t have felt more welcome and been looked after any better. We were arriving late and they were happy to provide us with a gorgeous meal at 9pm. We had stuffed peppers and meat balls with rosy potatoes as well as fresh fruit and Greek salads. The hotel is lovely and small and intimate, the food was gorgeous. Not only did they let us leave our luggage here while we went up the mountain they let us leave it in our rooms which we kept for the next night. When we got back from the mountain at around 8pm we had lovely G&T’s at the pool bar. We then tucked into a gorgeous home made Moussaka. Paris recommended some local red and white wines which were superb. The breakfast was lovely eggs French toast ham cheese cakes and fruit. We had a lovely stay and checked out late after a quick swim but nothing was a problem. Possibly the best hosts I’ve ever come across can’t believe there’s anywhere more friendly...
