We didn’t have high expectations, but even then Sailinn managed to disappoint.
The ambiance tries to pass as chic, but is frankly just tacky. Furniture looks worn, tables are unevenly set and the overall setup feels neglected. The live music was far too loud, with poorly balanced instruments, one moment a saxophone dominates, the next you can’t hear the rest. It made it hard to relax or even talk.
Service was friendly but chaotic. We reserved a table for two, but arrived to find one set for seven. When we clarified, they asked us to move (which we declined) and oddly enough, the table remained empty for the next hour.
The food was no better. The bruschetta was soft instead of crispy, topped with an unexpected (and bland) pesto. My pulpo was sliced lengthwise which looked unappetizing. Two pale, floppy strips on the plate and half of it wasn’t even properly cooked. My table mate’s seafood pasta came in a strange doughy shell that didn’t affect the taste but looked awful, like the shell had vomited the pasta onto the plate.
To be fair, the overall food scene on the island hasn’t impressed us so far, but Sail Inn stood out for the wrong reasons. It’s more about appearance than substance and even the appearance...
Read moreWe spent the day at Sail Inn Beach Club and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The cost for an umbrella and two sunbeds was €20, which is fine—except the service didn’t match the price.
We were told the front row was fully booked, but we later saw people being seated there without any reservations, which felt unfair and poorly managed.
Service at the beach was slow and inattentive—you really have to chase someone down just to place an order. The cocktails were disappointing, and both the breakfast and lunch were overpriced for the quality we received.
In the afternoon, the music became very loud, making it difficult to relax. What should have been a calm beach experience turned into something quite the opposite.
To top it off, our final bill included items we didn’t order. When we asked for clarification, the staff was unhelpful and dismissive. We had to use Google Translate ourselves to understand and insist the bill be corrected.
Overall, a very disappointing experience that felt more about style...
Read moreOur favorite place in 2021 and still our favorite in 2022. Family owned restaurant with a great atmosphere. The owner hires consultancy from different chefs in Greece to help combining the menu. This results in a fusion mix of tradition synchronized in harmony with modern international food additions. The crispy chicken with fries is made with panko crust. The home made Gyros is supported on a pita filled with greek style salad, tiny chopped, avocado and finished with dots of the best Tzaziki you can find.
The music is nice and perfectly balanced in the background.
Last but not least I want to share my thanks to the wonderful and very attending waiters who made our stay relaxing and enjoyable.
Keep up with your originality and soon the world will know...
