I used to like this place but this year unfortunately there have been some changes in the entire Nidri area that also were obvious here. The entire beach is empty, i come at 8 and try to get sunbeds but am announced that some from the first row might be reserved and we might have to move a little to the left or to the right. The person in charge tells me he cannot know for sure until 9. Why? I don't know since i imagine he has the reservations on a computer. So I get all my stuff, I stay there for one hour during which the bar is not open to get a coffee, and then they ask me to leave because everything is reserved even in the back rows. Ruined my day completely because all the beaches are now reserved at this hour although there s no soul actually physically present. I don t know since when this became a practice in Nidri, the reservations are not even transparent. This used to be a nice relaxing vacantion spot, that i m visiting for the 3rd year in a row and it s sad to see it become terrible. I will not be...
Read moreWe were here after our worst ever experience in a restaurant (see my reviews of Anna Maria restaurant in Nydri) a night earlier. So this was really good! Its a slightly more upmarket restaurant than your local taverns in the area, but still very casual. The setting, food and service was impacable. We had a Saganaki as a starter, then the grilled squid and sword fish steak. The food was top notch!
My only complaint is that there was one specific waiter who was spoiling the atmosphere a little. He was probably the head-waiter, thin, slightly balding and older than all the other waiters, and was shouting at them all. When we first arrived, the waiters were all happy and friendly, and after a whole lot of shouting from this head-waiter towards the other staff, they were all unhappy and irritated and it wasnt good for the atmosphere.
But im Greek, and most people that night wouldnt be able to understand what was going down so they wouldnt really have been bothered. Still a top...
Read moreFood was good, but not exceptional. It has nice views of the water. The eating area had a large number of wasps, which we had not encountered eating elsewhere in the area. It is clearly a recurring problem as the waiters have an electric hand held bug zapper to deal with the wasps, but even with them zapping several at our table we still had a good number of them. Had to ask one person for help with the wasps three times who kept saying he would get some, and then walking away and doing other things and did not return. Our actual waiter was very hard to find even getting up and walking around the resteraunt looking for him. Another table that complained about the wasps was told the resteraunt used to hang containers with liquid that would trap them, but had stopped doing that. There also was a 13% mark up on our bill at the end for using a credit card that nobody mentioned or brought up period during our time. Including some photos of the wasps climbing inside the...
