Polyxenis Rooms — Hotel in Lefkada Municipality

We visited the place from 18 to 21 of August 2017 for 3 nights stay. Lefkada is a beautiful island but the hotel was not quite as good.||The plus (+) :||1. The room was clean and tidy.||2. There was a pool which seemed to be clean.||3. The people were kind and eager to satisfy our needs.||4. There was good wifi reception.||||The minus (-) beware its a long list: ||1. There is no elevator. Our room was on the 2nd floor and we had to climb 4 stairs every day at least 4 times. So not recommended for people with problems in their knees, back, etc.||2. The air conditioning unit was filthy. It was cleaned after our request, but we could not trust it. Also the ac unit was placed just opposite to our beds, so the cold air was coming towards us all night which was quite annoying. And for those who do not use ac, lets say that the rooms on the 2nd floor are quite hot in the night.||3. Not good insulation in the walls. We could hear even the water when our neighbours switched the faucet on.||4. Very small toilet without a separate shower. Thus the water, after we showered, was everywhere in the toilet and the floor was never dry.||5. The room was quite small and the mattresses extremely stiff, so we had a hard time to sleep well.||6. There was not enough places to put our belongings. The suitcases had to be put on the floor. Also the furnitures were quite old.||7. The TV was an ancient crt 14 inch wide and the remote control of the external decoder had hard time to change channels from our beds. Also we had to stand up and switch the tv off from its own button, which was frustrating. ||8. There was only a small window in the room which was not enough to ventilate the room and cool it down.||9. Our room was in the back and it had a view only to the pool, but the front sided rooms had no view either.||10. A strange noise like a loud whistle was coming somewhere from the balcony' s door when the weather was windy (always). Please take care of it, as it is quite annoying especially if you try to sleep.||11. The breakfast was not included in the price.||||All in all, this hotel was not up to our expectations, especially for the price of 70 Euros per night excluding breakfast. If it was for 30-35 Euros then yes I could recommend it as a cheap place for people without high expectations. But at this price I could say without any hesitation that we were robbed. I would rate it with 4 out of 10 and of course I would not recommend it to anyone at this price (70 Euros) There are far more better places to stay in lefkada with the same or less money. This hotel has an 8 ranking in booking something which I really do not understand. Only blind people or paid to write a good review could give such a rating in this hotel. ||So guys just follow my advice...

Από που ν' αρχίσω; Να ενημερώσω ότι έκανα τηλεφωνικά κράτηση, ζητώντας 2 δίκλινα με διπλά κρεβάτια. Η τιμή 100€/βράδυ με πρωινό. Πολλά χρήματα, αλλά για την εποχή και το νησί λες, τι να κάνω ας είναι, έχει και μια πισίνα τουλάχιστον... Απ τις εικόνες στο booking είχα μικρές απαιτήσεις. Απλό δωμάτιο μόνο να είναι καθαρό και ήσυχο. Παίρνω τηλέφωνο 12 η ώρα να μάθω τι ώρα θα μπορούμε να μπούμε. Μου λένε απ τις 12 και μετά ελάτε. 13:00 ήμασταν εκεί. Τα δωμάτια πάλι μετά τις 14:00 τελικά, ενώ πριν μια ώρα στην ουσία μας είχαν πει ότι είναι έτοιμα. Ας είναι... Ανεβαίνουμε πάνω και απ τον διάδρομο δεν μου άρεσε το πράγμα. Ανοίγουμε δωμάτια, ΣΟΚ. Μια πόρτα αλουμινίου αυλής για κυρία είσοδο, με ένα κομμάτι ύφασμα από πίσω για κουρτίνα. 2 μόνα κρεβατια που μας επέτρεψαν να τα ενωσουμε (γελάω) και στην μέση να βάλουμε καμία κουβερτα για να μην πέσουμε στο κενό.. Πάω να ανοιξω την μπαλκονοπορτα. Λέω κλειδωμένη θα είναι δεν ανοίγει, τελικά απλά ήθελε να βάλεις κόντρα τα πόδια στον τοίχο και να τραβήξεις με όλη σου την δύναμη για να ανοίξει. Μπαίνω μπάνιο, που τελικά ήταν wc. Η πόρτα μια απ τα ίδια με του μπαλκονιού, αφού η κοπέλα απ το άλλο ζευγάρι παραλίγο να μείνει μέσα στο μπάνιο, κόλλησε η πόρτα και δεν άνοιγε. Δεν είχε να κάνεις ντουζ κάπου. Είχε απλά μια βρύση με κουρτίνα για να μην βραχεί η λεκάνη που ήταν κολλητά και επειδή προφανώς τα νερά γινοντουσαν λίμνη μέχρι το δωμάτιο έξω, είχε έναν λαστιχενιο καθαριστη ώστε να τα μαζέψεις κοντά στην αποχέτευση. Μυρωδιά δε που δεν περιγράφεται, πρίζες για να πάρεις φωτιά, φασαρία από ανύπαρκτη ηχομόνωση σε άλλο level πραγματικότητα και στρώματα που μόλις καθόσουν τρίζανε. Όπως ήταν λογικό, κάναμε παράπονα και είπαμε ότι δεν μπορούμε να μείνουμε έτσι και θα φύγουμε αφήνοντας ωστόσο τα 100€ προκαταβολή για το κάθε δωμάτιο. Η υπεύθυνη αντί να ρωτήσει γιατί, να δείξει λίγο ενδιαφέρον, νευρίασε και μας την είπε κιόλας τύπου δεν είδατε τις φωτογραφίες στο Internet, δεν είναι σωστό να φύγετε. Όχι το μπάνιο δεν το είχε στο Internet, επίσης η φασαρία, το στρώμα που τριζει, η μυρωδιά και ότι θα μας βαζατε δύο μονά κρεβάτια από μόνοι σας χωρίς να μας το πείτε, όχι δεν φαίνονται. Αναγκάζομαι να βάλω 1 αστέρι απλά για να μπει η κριτική. Κάτι τέτοια είναι δυσφίμηση όχι μόνο για τους ίδιους και το νησί αλλά και για την χώρα μας...

My friend and I stayed here for 2 weeks and had a great relaxing stay. The family were very welcoming and were helpful in giving us advice on where to visit around the island. The pool area was always clean and tidy. Breakfast was made with delicious ingredients the were locally sourced. The rooms are quite small and basic, but completely functional and is everything you need. The air conditioning in the rooms was mostly working well and suited us fine. It is also located very close o the main road so it makes it easy to get the bus around the island. All the tavernas and beaches are very close and walking distance away.
