What can i say, it was perfect.
I'd like to mention the downsides alongside the upsides but in this case i dont have to mention any downsides at all. We went here on our first and last night of our vacation, and we had lovely evenings.
If you want a table by the water i'd recommend to make a reservation, the view and the atmosphere is breathtaking. But even if you have a table at the back of the restaurant you will have a lovely stay. The waiters know what they are talking about and give their honest advise about the food on the menu. Some of the foods on the menu are made by local recipes and aren't for all tourist, but there are loads of other options. If you like to try the local recipes the waiters will warn you but i went for it either way and was pleasantly surprised, the waiter came back a little while later to ask if i made the right choice.
Furthermore the restaurant gives you some extras during the night and it is free of charge, everything was delicious and they make u really feel at home.
All in all, its not too touristic, they are very friendly, speak fluently English and the food is delicious.
It was our best restaurant...
Read moreLovely “upscale” family tavern by the sea with convenient parking. They serve wonderful food with passion in a lovely seaside atmosphere. I used “upscale” as the service, the food and the presentation are more researched and curated than the average Greek tavern. They also have a good wine list with the wines from Lefkada, that I suggest you try.
I had the starter with tuna and smoked aubergines and it was delicious, quite possibly the best I got in a long time. I had the red snapper and it was good too. I also tasted other dishes and they were all good.
We did not had room left for dessert, so I cannot talk about it, but we have been offered a very good liquor that the owner makes himself.
Last but not least, the prices are also upscale, so you can expect to spend 20-50% more than the average tavern, but in my opinion the extra...
Read moreAs almost every review states, there is a slight increase in price compared to its local competitors, but don’t let that put you off. If you want a finer dining experience with faster service, more modern Greek fusion dishes, then do give Ta Kanioria a go. My wife had the Rooster pastasada and I had the lamb spaeto. The pasta was incredible and so was the lamb. It was a very big portion of lamb and pasta that made it very much worth the money. The lamb was pretty much falling off the bone, it’s a nice thing to see. Generous pricing, sharp service and a cracking sea view overlooking Lygia’s harbour. Book a table for 2 before 8pm and you’ll have a very chilled dining experience. My only downside was no dessert menu but maybe they prioritise perfecting the main courses over the rest. I don’t blame them- the food was...
