I can't believe this place has gotten so many positive reviews for such terrible service and mediocre food! We were spending our 26th wedding anniversary in Lefkada and I picked two places to spend our special celebration. The first one was Kanioria Taverna and this place, Taverna Seven Islands. We checked the menu at both restaurants and felt Taverna Seven Islands had a more authentic Greek menu. We decided on this restaurant and boy, what a mistake. I really wish we picked Kanioria instead. The waiter was indifferent and rude. I speak a little Greek because of my ethnicity and he basically rolled his eyes at the way I was speaking Greek. I wanted to order fish so I asked if I could see the fish they had available. He begrudgingly took me back to the kitchen so I could check the freshness of the fish. He (the waiter) was put off when I asked the price of the fish. I picked a nice looking Sea Bream and asked if he would weigh it and give me a price. He again displayed disdain but weighed it and said it would be 25.00 Euros. I agreed and ordered it. My wife ordered what was described as pork tenderloin with a spicy butter sauce. It ended up being a tough piece of boneless pork chop with plain butter. My fish came out and was noticeably smaller than the one I ordered and the eyes were removed. This indicated to me that I was not given the fish I ordered. It was much smaller and had an oxidized taste indicating it was not fresh. I fed most of it to the poor cats begging for food (they had a very prominent notice not to feed the cats or any other animal). I felt sorry for the cats that had to eat it. I would have excused all of this had it not been for the terrible customer service by our waiter, as well as the rest of the staff. Within 20 minutes of arriving at the restaurant our waiter turned off the nice Greek music playing and turned on a football game. He and the other staff were so interested in the football match they totally ignored their customers. I had to get up from my table and go into the restaurant to request service. Our waiter and the rest of the staff are an embarrassment to the Greek hospitality one would expect. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. So many other great...
Read moreWe stayed at the apartments but besides the wonderful view from the balcony it was a total disappointment.
There was no check in or welcome whatsoever. We had no idea who to call or when we had to check out. The cleaning lady just showed us the room but did not speak English at all. We did our very best to connect and have a friendly conversation with the staff, but all of them were very uninterested and moody. We had no idea who the owners were, since they did not introduce themselves. But all of the staff were giving off a really bad and negative vibe (except for one girl, Anna, she was really sweet!). They basically just sat there, unbothered, smoking their cigarettes and could barely say hello when we politely said hi in our best Greece. The rooms were totally outdated, but on top of that things were dirty and broken. The bed looks like it went through war and the pillows and blankets were really dirty. The bed was also extremely uncomfortable (and we are used to firm mattresses), there were springs piercing in our backs. We woke up with more back pain every day. There was one door from the shower missing, and the water went everywhere. There was black mold in the bathroom. Restaurant: very overpriced, a real bad deal for the quality and service you get. Just the view is very nice, but that’s out of their influence. Better go to the To Koutouki tavern which is nearby, that’s where the real Greek food and...
Read moreAmazing location. Kind of tricky to find because it’s down an alley but worth it. They have parking but it’s all the way down the alley way past homes. The restaurant is on a walkway along the water and all I can say is WOW. Breathtaking views! Very cute establishment. We went for dinner around 8pm and it was still dusk (May) and the staff was wonderful. Helpful and kind. We overate. Salad. Beets. Everything vegetarian and local. Only thing that upset me was: cats and mosquitoes. We got attacked by an insane amount of mosquitoes and about 15 cats surrounded us waiting for food. One kept nudging me for food but if you feed one, you got to feed the others! Cats are very common in these parts so be prepared. As the night continued, I drank their local red wine and couldn’t care less about the cats or mosquitoes (lol). They brought out the mosquito coil which helped but I still got bit. That’s the one thing I was unprepared for coming to the island. But it’s ok. The food. The people. The location. It’s all worth every bite. So if you go here, do spray yourself or expect a few bites. Highly...
