I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cisore restaurant in the island of Lefkada, and I must say, it was a delightful culinary experience. The restaurant, with its contemporary ambiance and warm atmosphere, offered a refreshing twist on Modern Greek cuisine.
Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the restaurant's chic decor, which seamlessly blended modern elements with traditional Greek touches. The staff greeted me warmly and promptly seated us at a comfortable table, making is feel welcomed right from the start.
The menu presented an enticing selection of dishes, showcasing a fusion of classic Greek flavors with innovative culinary techniques. As a starter, we had the homemade bread with salty butter. It was amazing! We had the cuttlefish with lentils and beetroot. A real authentic Greek taste with influence from the local cuisine. It exceeded my expectations. The cuttlefish was tender and perfectly cooked, complemented by a flavorful medley of the rest ingredients. Ceviche was an harmonious balance of flavors. The acidity from the citrus juice was well-balanced, neither overpowering nor too subtle. “Ntolmas” was a special and successful reference to Greek cuisine. The grilled fish was the tastiest dish. Also don’t forget to try a dish with homemade pasta.
To accompany my meal, we selected a Greek wine from the restaurant's well-curated list. The staff was knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations, enhancing my dining experience even further.
While the food was undoubtedly the star of the show, I was also impressed by the attentive and friendly service throughout the evening. The staff demonstrated a genuine passion for their craft and took the time to explain each dish.
Overall, my dining experience at this modern Greek restaurant in Lefkada was memorable. From the stylish ambiance to the exceptional flavors and attentive service, it truly showcased the best of Greek cuisine with a contemporary twist. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a unique and satisfying culinary journey while...
Read moreInteresting to eat here noting the hype that is surrounding the restaurant. We were recommended here both by our villa provider and the hotel we stayed at. Booked online, via Instagram, received confirmation as well as a chaser/reminder the day before. On arrival, we were informed that our reservation hadn’t been logged. After some back and forth (and me showing them the messages sent by Cisore) we were told they did have a table for us. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, in the corner, adjacent to the car park. The rest of the restaurant was available and the table was rejected by us. Another table, by the front was found for us even though we were assured that the restaurant was full for the night. At no point did the restaurant fill and in fact the table next to us was empty all evening. Maddening start to the evening and the manner with which the above was managed was poor and not in keeping with the ££ of the restaurant nor the reviews. Service was surly until we ordered decent wine and fizz - always a frustration when this flips the dial. Food was good - my pasta had far too much dill running it through it but in our party of 3, all were happy with starters, mains and desserts ordered. Wine list has minimum 2.5x mark up - frustrating that this includes Greek wines when they should be less. Setting (at the front) is magnificent - only blemish is the clientele which varies between local (wonderful) and not - latter seem to think it acceptable to play videos loud and receive phone calls without holding their phones to their ears. This of course is not remotely managed by the waiting staff and for the reviews/cost - I would...
Read moreCisore in Lefkada completely won me over.
The grouper was beautifully fresh, cooked with precision and just enough char to enhance, not mask, its natural flavor.
The tuna tartare was a standout. Silky texture, and the dressing - a blend of aromatics infused with cucumber water - was light, citric, and perfectly balanced. It brought brightness and umami without overwhelming the tuna. Subtle, thoughtful, and masterfully done.
Then came the grilled tuna - a small, locally caught variety. It was seared with confidence, served pink and tender at the center. No overhandling, just respect for the fish. You could taste how fresh it was - like it came off the boat that morning.
We also tried the local rib eye - a great choice to round out all the seafood. Nicely done, flavorful, and paired simply with baby potatoes. Solid execution and balance.
Praline dessert to finish an amazing experience!
The chef clearly knows their craft, and it shows in every plate. Service was warm, attentive, and effortless - the kind that lets you relax and enjoy.
The setting on the waterfront is perfection. Peaceful, intimate, and exactly where this kind of food belongs.
Cisore is a fresh, elevated take on Greek coastal dining. A modern expression of local ingredients, handled with precision and real...
