We visited (two individuals) the restaurant a few days ago for dinner. Looked like a nice location to enjoy dinner. We were given the menu and we made our order. The younger waiters were very polite and helpful. When we asked for payment they discouraged us from using a card and instead asked for cash. The older guy (probably the owner) came and acted like he calculated what we have ordered on a notebook. The amount seemed more than we expected but we thought at first that we were mistaken and gave him the money. In vein we expected for a receipt. We observed that none of the other tables were getting a receipt either. When we left we calculated the prices we've seen on the menus for the dishes we've ordered and we realised that we were fooled and payed way more than the actual cost. The food was also mediocre, the portions small and pricy. Seems like the restaurant is tourist trap, they depend on tourists to take advantage of their ignorance because no local was dinning there at least when we were there too. IN NO WAY I WOULD RECOMMEND...
Read moreThe one star is not for the quality of the food. It is for waiting for a full hour and having to ask them twice for the main course as well as feeling ript off when the bill came. The table across us was so fed up of waiting that they asked for the bill before the main course came out. When I asked for the bill he started scribbling on a pice of paper and handed me the bill for 110 Euro. Could not make out what we were getting charged for so I asked for an invoice. Without saying too much the price was what was on the menu but the portions for the main course were ridiculously small. Not a pleasant experience. Makis Taverna right next to us looked like a better choice but because Xouras had better ratings we went there. Don't...
Read moreA nice unassuming taverna by the waters edge, focusing on fish. Helpful staff let you know todays availability and for how many people. We had sole on the first visit and red snapper caught same day on second, both lovely. Also the stuffed vegetables were tasty (tho the fish with the usual trimmings is more than enough to fill up on at lunch!). A rookie error we didn't check the weight of the fish, the snapper worked out a bit pricey, but the sole was excellent value. Regardless, prices are very fair given the freshness. Taverna is by the road but seating is on the waterfront side so we did not notice the traffic. Recommended if you...
