Pistakion Houses — Hotel in Municipality of Aegina

A year or two ago, on holiday in Athens, we took a ferry to the island of Aegina one day to visit the monastery of St. Nectarios. We really liked what we managed to see on the pistachio island, so we decided to stay several days this year. After many searches and read reviews on the internet, we decided to stay at Pistakion Houses and I think we made a very good choice. The location is located about 1 km from the port area and the terraces easily reached in 5-10 minutes walk. The apartment complex is in a quiet area, about 30 meters from Faneromenis Street. The apartment is large, bright, has 3 rooms, living room with sofa bed, a bedroom with two beds, the other with a large, double bed. The terrace is very large, has a table and chairs and is protected from the sun with extensible umbrellas / parasols (as everywhere in Greece). The living room also includes a kitchen with refrigerator, stove, dishes, etc. all facilities. We do not cook when we are on holiday in Greece, possibly a tea or a coffee, but we mentioned that the facilities allow this. The apartment has air conditioning in all rooms. The car can be parked in the yard, there are plenty of places available. The hosts, Maria and Nectarios, are very kind and welcoming. You can pay in cash or by card, as the customer wishes. I recommend this location for those who want a large, spacious apartment with all the necessary comfort in an oasis of peace near the tumultuous area...

Edit: We returned to Pistakion houses for a second visit in 2022. Everything was fantastic and Nektarios and Maria treated us like kings! If you are planning a trip to Aegina, don't look anywhere else! This is THE place to stay! We had a fantastic stay at Pistakion houses, hosted by Mr. Nektarios and Mrs. Maria. We felt like visiting old friends and were treated like kings! We stayed at the 2-bedroom apartment, which has 2 spacious bedrooms, both with very comfortable beds, a large living room and a fully-equipped kitchen with everything you need for a perfect family stay. The apartment was sparkling clean, something very important during the Covid situation. There is ample parking space right beneath the apartments, so you can park your car and overlook it from the balcony! What we liked most, was the area of the complex: it is situated 5 minutes from the city center, which means that you can go on foot and enjoy a relaxed walk! 50 meters from the complex, there is a large super-market and a fruit store with local products. We regret we didn't stay more, but we will...

These apartments are truly exceptional! They are very spacious, beautifully decorated, and no expense was spared on the tasteful interior. Everything is spotlessly clean. The view we had from the upper floor is amazing with a look over to the sea, the apartments are in an excellent location, slightly removed from the city center, so there is no crowd or noise. Yet, it is close enough that it takes only 5-10 minutes to walk to the promenade, bars, restaurants and marina. The centre is literally a pleasant 10 minutes walk.

The beds and pillows are as comfortable as at home. Every room has its own air-conditioning, nice big fridge, kettle and living area.

Marija and Nick are wonderful hosts. They will help you with anything you need know about the island know it very well, and are always smiling when interacting with the guests.
