We took a train from Syntagma Metro Station to Piraeus Metro Station in the morning and boarded a ferry bound for Aegina Island at the Port of Piraeus. Highlights of Aegina Island included:

Read moreThe area and the tower itself seems to be abandoned. Although it bears a history of more than 2 centuries and is connected to the War of Independence (1821). If not a private property, it is responsibility of the Ministry of Culture or the local municipality to maintain it and have it as the venue for various activities e.g. exhibitions, small concerts during warm, summer evenings etc. In other words, the big picture of the monument is definitely not good...
