We recently stayed at the Enorme Santanna Island Resort for a 7-night getaway and while there were certainly some highlights, several aspects of the experience fell short of expectations. To begin with the positives, the hotel itself is modern and beautifully designed. We booked a swim-up room with a sea view, and it was truly the highlight of our stay. The room was stylish, and very comfortable, and having our own sunbeds was a lovely added luxury. The overall setting of the resort is peaceful, and the weather during our stay was absolutely perfect. However, our arrival was unfortunately marred by a disappointing and uncomfortable check-in experience. Prior to our arrival, I had arranged for a room upgrade over email and was clearly informed that it would be a one-time charge of €50. Upon arrival, we were told that the upgrade would instead cost €50 per night – an unexpected and unjustified additional €300. When I explained the discrepancy and referenced the email confirmation, the receptionist reacted with visible annoyance, rolling her eyes and showing little interest in resolving the issue. We were then made to wait over 20 minutes while another staff member "checked" the details, treating us as though we were being dishonest and if i didnt have proof. Although they ultimately confirmed that I was correct, there was no apology or acknowledgment from either staff member and bare in mind they were about to take €300 off us like that! The situation felt unnecessarily awkward and unprofessional. They also checked us in and after did not explain to us where any of the restaurants, food bars or drink bars were so we were basically left to find it all our selves. Throughout our stay, other service aspects continued to disappoint. Our beach towels were never replaced, and when we attempted to dine at the on-site restaurants, we found they were fully booked until the last two days of our stay. When we finally managed to secure a table at the Italian restaurant, the food was underwhelming – we were served a garlic baguette with melted cheese, lacking even basic seasoning like garlic. To make matters worse, one staff member appeared to be managing over 15 tables alone, leading to a chaotic and rushed dining experience. On our last night we had booked the asian restaurant on site we were told to sit anywhere then was changed 3 times and the waitress was so rude and didn’t come to take our drinks for about 15 minutes while we sat down, the set menu was just awful edamame as a starter we got less then 10 edamame beans just a joke at this point we got up and said we did not want the food anymore and another night spent out to get food! The buffet options were equally uninspiring across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food lacked variety and freshness, and unfortunately, did not meet the expectations one would have from an all-inclusive resort. Due to this, we chose to dine out for most of our stay. Lastly, while the resort's closest beach is picturesque, it is very small and lacks amenities such as a beach bar. The surrounding town is also quite minimal in terms of entertainment or dining options, so there’s limited opportunity to explore without traveling further afield. This of course is not the hotels fault but just to bare in mind. In summary, while the room and weather were both lovely and made for some relaxing moments, the poor service, lack of food quality, and logistical frustrations unfortunately overshadowed what could have been a far more enjoyable experience.

I've just come home from an incredible week long holiday at Enorme Santanna Island and we can't wait to come back! I was quite apprehensive before visiting after reading bad reviews, however we were proven so wrong. Firstly, the hotel is beautiful. It's been newly built so everything is decorated and furnished to a very high standard. There was definitely no expense spared building this hotel. All staff go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. On arrival, you are offered a welcome drink at reception whilst you check yourself in by the QR code. You are then taken by the golf buggy to your room. When we arrived, we had to book the restaurants via a lovely lady called Maria, but during our stay this changed so from now on you book all restaurants via the QR code in reception when checking in (remember to do so because they get booked up quickly). The restaurants consist of the Italian, Cretian, Asian, and also Brunch&Co ( you can book for breakfast or lunch)- all allowed only once during your stay. The cretian restaurant was our favourite, we had a fantastic meal and the staff there were all amazing! You can also order snacks at the Italian restaurant during the day from 11:30- 5pm, and also crepes at the Crepiere which opens at 12. Rooms came with bath robes and slippers, and both air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan, which we loved as it's not nice sleeping with air conditioning. Bottled water was also provided daily in your room which was great as we never had to go out to buy water. The bar man in the sunset restaurant was amazing, not sure on his name but he had dark hair- he made cocktails fresh and they were delicious. All alcohol is branded, which we were very impressed by. There were many drinks to choose from, spirits cocktails etc. The service can be a little slow, but this is only because they make the cocktails from scratch (and i know i'd much prefer this to pre made cocktails!). There is also an aperol spot which opens every evening and plays chilled music, which had a selection of tasty drinks. If you want somewhere else to drink in the evening then you can in the Asian restaurant which has a great view of the sea and you don't need to reserve. The food in the buffet restaurant was nice, there was plenty to choose from - most of which changed daily. The staff were constantly making sure things were kept topped up & was very clean. I would also say the hotel are great at highlighting ingredients in meals, so people with allergies needn't to worry! Upon checkout, there are showers with fresh towels so you can get cleaned up before leaving. There are 4 different pools, all of which have the comfiest sun beds, the hotel also provides beach towels which will be left in your room on arrival. The only thing I would suggest is to wake up at 7am to reserve the beds, otherwise you won't get one. Here are some minor improvements I'd make, but these are very very minor as I found this hotel so hard to fault: -Have a DJ or light music playing around the pool during the day -Italian restaurant food can be improved (the pizza) -Provide more sun beds - have entertainment in evening Overall, our stay was the most relaxing, perfect week we could've dreamt of, and I can't recommend this hotel enough! Please do not let the bad reviews change your mind as I've stayed in many hotels before and this is by far the best! Thank you :)

We come to Sissi every year but this was our first time staying in this hotel. This is their first year being open as all inclusive but the actual look of the hotel is amazing. You can tell the vibe they’re going for. It’s rated as 5 star but after staying, I’d definitely say it’s more like 4 - but they are trying to improve! Customer service in the main reception and some of the team was fantastic, you can tell they’re trying to pride themselves on that but there are a few things to point out. First of all, the beds for the pools: on our first day, we did notice that everyone was reserving beds from 6/7am so we just went out in the morning and came back later to get a bed, however, after speaking with guests and noticing what was happening, they ended up putting signs up to ask people not to reserve until after 9 and they started to put bean bags around the whole resort so you could sit anywhere you like. We didn’t actually have an issue with getting beds after that, especially by the second pool with the double beds and snack bar. The maids are very persistent, one day she refused to go even though I was stood there with a sheet wrapped round me because I was in the middle of getting changed! And some days, they would give a half hearted attempt at cleaning. There were queues at the bars, but mainly the one in the buffet area by the main pool. The lads up at the snack bar and the lady on the brunch bar were really nice and couldn’t do enough for you but the main bar by the buffet had a queue every day with a guy who acted as if you’d really inconvenienced him by asking for a drink some days. He also refused to give more than one drink per person sometimes, which didn’t really make much sense to me because it is all inclusive and we were just trying to avoid coming back to queue so soon. We never had an issue with this at other bars. The only other thing I’d say is that there’s not an awful lot going on in the hotel, there was a Sax player and DJ on Monday day time by the snack pool, Nutella bar open every day apart from Monday and an Aperol bar. A bar with music down near the front but not much else, so I think they may be looking to improve that. Buffet food has a wide selection and is actually great but make sure you make the most of the snack bar!! Gyros, burgers and pizzas included in all inclusive and delivered to your bed!! However, compared to anywhere else we’ve stayed at in Sissi, this was fantastic and we’d love to go back again. I totally understand that if you’ve paid for all inclusive, you don’t want to spend loads so may not have the money to go out in the evenings but I would 100% recommend going out of the hotel, even if it’s just to visit the harbour. We had a car so went to other beaches but there is a small beach at the side of the hotel. If you do have some money to spare and would like to go out, visit Taverna Amelia’s, Oliver’s steak house, Mikes Place, Neromilos, Stam Stam, crazy golf, juniper bar and much more! Sissi is a great place, make sure to see it!

The hotel is beautiful but unfortunately that’s the only good thing about it. The service is terrible, on multiple occasions I would have to ask for a coke multiple times (could not have requested an easier drink). I once asked 5 separate times and ended up going over to the bartender and waiting in line myself! I told the waiter he never gave me my drink and he had nothing to say - no apology or sincerity which you will soon realise is the case for all the staff here. Not once was a sorry heard and there were plenty of times I was owed an apology. I queued for an hour twice to book an a la carte restaurant and then gave up queueing. The woman that sorts these has little customer service, she got up in the middle of our conversation to go talk to a receptionist (didn’t excuse herself, just got up and walked away for five minutes).. I ended up getting a reservation that magically appeared after I contacted easyJet about the issues I was having. Unfortunately, I never made it to this reservation as both me and my friend ate the buffet dinner in the hotel and within the hour our stomachs took a turn for the worst and we realised we had contracted food poisoning. We had not consumed any food or drinks outside of the hotel the past 5 days. I threw up 4 times and me and my friend were taken to hospital. The hotel sent us to a private hospital where our insurance wouldn’t cover the bill and we ended up paying privately as the public hospital was an extra 40 minutes away from where we were originally sent. I informed the hotel that we had food poisoning as it was happening as I requested water and toilet tissue. The assistant manager - Joanna I believe her name is was awful. She was defensive, rude and I can’t believe she represents the hotel in any capacity. I spoke to multiple guests who agreed she was passive aggressive and should not be in this role. She laughed when I told her that I had called reception and informed them of my food poisoning and said that I didn’t tell them - complete lie. She then said she doubts I have food poisoning as I don’t have a diagnosis. Following the hospital visit, I told her I have a diagnosis and would like an apology - she said she wouldn’t apologise. Not once did I hear ‘I hope you feel better soon’. They only care about their reputation. I am sure they will reply to this review that they are ‘shocked’ to hear of my experience as they have done other reviews! I also called reception in the morning to request more water and toilet tissue. Two hours later - nothing. I had to go find a housekeeper myself and ask her for tissue directly and went to the shops for water. We didn’t eat any hotel food or drink the last two days of our stay so it was a complete waste of money. It got to a point where I actually felt bad for any new guests arriving as I knew they would face disappointment. Every single time I went to the lobby, there would be multiple people complaining about bad service or lack of sun beds etc. The hotel have a shocking response and they do not deserve a 5* rating. The food at the buffet is kept uncovered and at a concerning temperature which I already raised prior to the food poisoning. The food options are also rubbish. The only good thing about the food / drink are the cocktails and I will say the man at the Aperol stand is lovely - an anomaly across the staff. If anyone else is reading this and had a similar experience with food - please report it and write a review. All in all, if you are planning on staying here - try and change your hotel. If you can’t - I would highly recommend eating outside of the hotel - avoid the buffet restaurant unless you fancy spending the night in...

Here are some minor improvements I'd make, but these are very very minor as I found this hotel so hard to fault: -Have a DJ or light music playing around the pool during the day -Italian restaurant food can be improved (the pizza) -Provide more sun beds have entertainment in evening Overall, our stay was the most relaxing, perfect week we could've dreamt of, and I can't recommend this hotel enough! Please do not let the bad reviews change your mind as I've stayed in many hotels before and this is by far the best!...
