Cactus Pub — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

Since they don’t have the apartments posted on google I will leave this review here because it’s their pub and people who may want to stay there might see this review.

Absolutely Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs

Our 12-day stay was a complete nightmare. The host refused to provide cleaning service for the entire duration, not even basic cleaning products. When we asked for at least minimal housekeeping every 3–4 days, we were told it’s included only once and afterward it costs €40 for a room of about 20 m² – outrageous.

The noise from the bar downstairs was unbearable every single night until 2:00 AM, making it impossible to sleep. When we politely requested basic cleaning, the response was extremely rude. Before we could arrange alternative accommodation or discuss a refund, our booking was abruptly canceled out of spite, clearly to cause us inconvenience.

When we decided to change the bedding ourselves, we discovered the mattress protector was stained, the sheet was torn, and there were hairs that were definitely not ours. For the price we paid, this was beyond unacceptable – it was an insult.

This was our favourite place to watch the incredible Sissi sunset each night.

It has absoutly loads of seating along a high wall raised up from the harbour, yet it still manages to feel intimate and personal. The views of the sunset are sensational as it goes down behind Dia island in the distance, I can't believe I'd not heard of a Sissi sunset before!

The staff are attentive, clearing any tiny bit of rubbish or unused glass within seconds. Great range of cocktails, the Spicy Mango was particularly good.

We ate here one evening as well and were equally as impressed. The mixed grill for 2 was an absolute beast of a meal and could have fed 4. It has a huge range and amount of classic Greek meats as well as sodes and sauces. Really price at €32 as well. It take a reassuringly long amount of time for food to come out so you know it's freshly done to order.

The Cactus Pub is an absolute highlight at the harbor of Crete! A beautiful pub with a stunning location – the view of the sea is simply unbeatable, probably the best along the whole harbor. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, just the right place to let your soul unwind while on holiday. What I especially want to highlight are the staff: super friendly, attentive, and warm-hearted – you immediately feel at home.
