DISRESPECTFUL and WORST Experience EVER!!! I went there with my family and we ordered food of €50 plus. I took a quick dive in the water right next to the place and came back to eat. When the waiter saw me, he told me to dry first. I said I didn’t have a towel because I forgot it and the waiter said he couldn’t help me. Then the owner, who was at the bar, interfered and told me with an attitude to wait and dry before eating. I said we had ordered food and I wanted to eat and with the same attitude, he just said it wasn’t his problem and that it’s not a beach bar in a pretty disrespectful tone. I felt very disrespected as a woman and above all as a human, especially after showing up and spending our money there for literally 30 plus years -since we were babies- with our families and friends (our grandparents are locals so they know each other). Out of respect to our own selves, I honestly advise you with all my heart not to spend your money to this place and to someone who doesn’t care and disrespects so much his own people (locals...
Read moreI would 100% recommend a breakfast here or just getting a drink with friends and family. They provide snack type foods and complementary crisps and nuts with most drinks. They also have a selection of crepes and waffles with various different fillings and toppings, great for breakfast or lunch. All employees are excellent English speakers so it’s easy to order without miscommunication and service is great and customers are made to feel extremely welcome. The view is also absolutely stunning over the sissi harbour and the decorations within the cafe fit perfectly with the beach environment. The prices are also affordable the only thing keeping them from 5*stars is the fact that it’s right next to a road so can be dangerous for young children and sometimes cars driving past can be disruptive but it isn’t too noticeable. If you visit sissi, Crete you should definitely check out...
Read moreSo a little shocked! I enjoy travelling alone, so about half my trips are solo and I have NEVER experienced this! We're towards the end of season so the places are still open but not even remotely at capacity. I pick this bar that has indoor seats and some seats along the beach. I take a table outside. Woman comes over with a handful of menus and asks if I am alone, I reply yes and suddenly the menus are jerked back out of my reach and I'm told this seating is reserved for 2 or more people and told me to sit inside. Why would I want to sit inside when it's 28 degrees? If I had sat at a huge table (it fit 2 comfortably, 4 uncomfortably) or there wasn't plenty of other free tables outside, I'd probably understand more, but this was just rude! Spend your money elsewhere, Sissi is a lovely place, this...
