Nimfes Villas — Hotel in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

We stayed in Kallisto villa but I expect this applies to all of them. The 3 villas all sit on the same fairly steep lane just off the main road in Istron village. Kallisto was just perfect for us. The pool was clean and very well cared for. Don't be put off by it being unheated it was plenty warm enough. The villa had very effective ac and speaking as an East Anglian it was necessary. And remember not to flush the toilet paper! I have a lot of experience in London of water pipes becoming blocked so I totally sympathise. The bins for waste are just on the main road to the right. If you want to be like a Greek take the rubbish out after dark. We spent the whole two weeks at the villa occasionally going to the beach for a swim. We are not explorer types. We did try out the restaurants they were all excellent. The Greeks seemed very fond of the stray cats and dogs all of which seemed to be in good health. A family of cats adopted us and despite being told not to we did feed them. I tried not to but I thought it would be rude seeing as how nice the locals were to them. There is a totally awesome pizzeria to the left down the main road which if you like pizza try out. We did take-out from there 4 times. The family are Italian and we were glad we tipped every time as the lovely owner said they always passed the tips to their young staff. Who were working in temperatures of up to 38 degrees whilst we were there. The beach is down a charming road lined with houses and trucks and olive groves and cats. The Greeks swim in the morning and later into the twilight and everyone goes in especially the older ladies. There are plenty of small shops but be careful when buying icecream. Firstly even the ordinary looking mass produced ones are gorgeous and they melt very fast. Obviously the fruit is so delicious. The cherries were divine. Stayed here a few times now and it's always perfect. No issues and if there are, the owner of Nimfes lives here, he will come straight away if there are any problems. La situation géographique des villas est intéressante, à moins d'une heure de l'extrême est de la Crète, et à 15 minutes d'Agios Nikolaos. Il y a 4 villas, nous étions dans la troisième en partant du bas. La terrasse, avec barbecue, piscine, transats, et billard est extraordinaire, avec une vue de folie sur la mer, et même le coucher de soleil ! Au niveau intérieur, c'est vraiment très très grand ! On se sent comme chez soi. En terme de décoration, c'est un poil vieillot, mais tout fonctionne parfaitement. Nous avons même été accueillis par une bouteille de Raki et une bouteille d'Huile d'Olive ! Les villas sont un peu excentrées, mais pas très loin de la magnifique plage de Voulisma (accessible à pied), à proximité de deux petits supermarchés, et d'une boulangerie.
