Read morewe got off to a magnificent start with a lack of starters.. the 4.50€ grilled halloumi were two slithers of cheese lightly heated on a plate that did not show any evidence of seasoning. the red wine was nothing to write home about. 4.50€ grilled peppers - one sad, soggy pepper cunningly placed on a platter with the 4.50€ grilled vegetables to hide the absence of peppers. speaking of which, the vegetables consisted of 3 thin slices of aubergine, a quarter of an onion and a sprinkle of pepper nuggets - all just bursting with blandness. there was no atmosphere at all and there are only 5 tables that possess the view (which is clearly the selling point of the place). the waiter had no rapport with the customers yet he seems to be the owner, and despite him standing leisurely behind us, it took a good 20 minutes to call him over for the bill as we sat with our empty plates (there wasn’t much to devour) looking around. reading the other poor reviews saying they saw the chef cooking shirtless and the bathroom’s hygiene was appalling gives us a better understanding of what we ate.. so, overall, we left with not a bad taste in our mouths, but rather none, and went home to cook...
Very good food for this 'Taberna'. But most of all, Giorgos is the best owner/chef/host that a customer could wish for. Not only he cares for the clients, but makes all feel welcome and comfortable. The greek recipes are good, many specialties avalailable. But the best way to explore this cuisine is to ask what is the catch of the day/freshly prepared meal. As many other establishments, there are a lot of complementary tretaments "on the house", like a slice if watermelon when it's very hot, or a couple of shots of the local raki. There are a lot of tables both outside on the veranda and inside. The view is very special, during the sundown with the sea and mountains. When it's hot during the lunches, there's a big leafy tree providing a wonderful shade while enjoing the light and tasty starters typical of this...
