Stayed for 10 nights here and it was divine — even with half our stay being quite rainy. The location is just brilliant with the panoramic views of the sea on both sides of the hotel. Lots of great options if you like swimming — the rocky beach is hands down the best place to snorkel if you're a strong swimmer, while the beach on the other side is good for less confident swimmers (just don't forget your water shoes) and one of my favourite features of the hotel was the terraces and terraces of sunbeds leading down to the beach. Each terrace felt quite secluded and there was plenty of shade + a bar (although sadly the app didn't work to allow us to order drinks to our sunbeds). For sun seekers, the pool is where it's at and again you get to swim with mesmerising views around you and I found the bar service was very good here (the club sandwich is amazing and huge! Also great cocktails and milkshakes). We found the pool sunbeds got taken quite early but freed up mid-afternoon — but there was always space on the sunbeds by the beach.||Other highlights: absolutely fantastic breakfast, lots of options + so nice to be able to sit out on the terrace when the sun was out. In the evenings, some tasty options on the a la carte menu and the buffet was good, but we mostly ate out. Worth signing up for the yoga - we went twice and the teacher is excellent. I also booked a great massage through the hotel. There's live music in the bar/on the terrace by the bar most nights. Everyone on reception, the cleaning ladies, the restaurant servers, the porters were so nice. The reception staff booked several restaurants and trips for us. Definitely check out:|- Nereids Restaurant & Bar down the road, set in a beautiful garden|- Il Pozzo, up on the mountain but worth a taxi |- For BBQ Spiros Taverna, about 20 minutes walk.||Our rooms were excellent - we'd upgraded to be on a higher floor with the view over the beach (although the trees do block it a bit) and the rooms were very spacious with huge, modern bathrooms and balconies. Pretty quiet mostly — bar a bit of noise that carried from reception/the restaurant below in the mornings. The hotel has been recently renovated so everything feels very modern and luxurious — the hotel even has a signature scent! ||Location wise - this hotel is very much geared up to be a relax on the beach kind of holiday with maybe a few excursions. There's not a tonne of exciting stuff (well beyond many beautiful views) in walking distance (we didn't have a car) and the pavements leave a lot to be desired. However, you can get down to the centre of Palaiokastritsa in about 30 minutes and it's worth walking up to the monastery (just check the opening hours). Lots of restaurants in walking distance. We got the bus into Corfu Town and that was fairly straight forward and definitely worth a day trip — just be aware you have to walk to the bus station to catch the bus back which is about 15-20 minutes further out than where the bus drops you when you arrive in the town.||No real complaints... my mum joked it was maybe too modern as there were no drawers in her room, just a clothes rail. I think the pool is one of the cooler ones we've been in but I think if you were staying during most of the summer season (when they said it reaches 40C!!), you'd be thankful for that — certainly on the sunnier days it was less noticeable — but I do wish the jacuzzi had been heated. Nevertheless, I would 1000% recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Corfu looking just to chill...

I’ll start first by saying the staff are fantastic. So friendly and welcoming, they can’t do enough for you. The cleaners were so lovely, especially the blonde lady who has her hair in a braid daily. The hotel is beautiful (newly decorated) and located in just the most amazing location. Every room has a spectacular view, though the rooms on the East of the bay are my favourite.

However, there were many faults to this hotel stay that can’t be ignored. There was no Greek influence or authenticity in the decoration or running of this hotel, frankly, we could have been anywhere in the world.

The food was passable. Well flavoured, but poorly executed. Dry, cold and chewy meat/fish dishes that needed washing down with water after every mouthful. A real lack of choice and of a repetitive nature which resulted in us only eating at the restaurant three nights out of seven. Drinks were paid for, which is understandable, but I’d have at least expected water included as it is with breakfast. That being said, dessert was 10/10 and full of variety.

The timings for breakfast and dinner were interesting - 7:45 - 10:00 for breakfast and 19:00 - 21:00 for dinner. Considering everyone goes out to eat at 20:30ish in Corfu, I don’t understand why the hotel restricts the eating time so much.

The additional paid for items were incredibly expensive and we had a hefty checkout bill alongside tourist tax that we had not been informed about during booking or checkin - I’ve since gone back through all confirmation and it is no where to be seen.

The sun-bed situation was quite dire. For a hotel that can accommodate a good few hundred guests, there were only 26 sun-beds available on the beach. If you didn’t get one of these (which we unfortunately didn’t) you’d have to pay €40 a day per couple, to sit on the sun beds owned by the beach bar! The pool came with similar problems. There are other spots with sun-beds available, however, they are no where near any water and kind of defeats the point of lounging near the pool or sea.

The pool was out of action for an entire day during our stay, we were told this would be resolved by 4pm, though it was not resolved until the following day. Again, you don’t expect pool maintenance for an entire day on a relaxing holiday in a so called 4 star hotel, in 28 degree heat.

Finally, the noise coming through the rooms late at night and early in the morning was unbearable. We were being woken up at 6:30 every morning by staff setting the tables and talking. Could hear conversations of neighbours coming through the walls, any doors that closed on the same floor as you ricocheted through to your room. Needless to say, the rooms are diabolically soundproofed and does not make for a good nights sleep.

It was a disappointing stay and didn’t meet any of our expectations. Though, I’d like to re-iterate these are hotel issues and absolutely nothing to do with the...

We went to the Akritiri for our summer holiday in 2019. The location of the hotel is excellent as it's set in in a bay with stunning views all round. Staff are friendly & very willing to help. We stayed half-board & if there's a down side it's that the set evening menu can become a bit repetitive. The dishes change daily but If you go for 2 weeks you'll be looking at the same menu in the 2nd week (if that makes sense?). There are other choices on the menu though & we never went hungry. On the whole the food was decent, occasionally it was outstanding & VERY occasionally it was not very good at all. Breakfast was the usual continental affair with a buffet style setting - everything available from cold meats to cereal. The pool bar served good meals - burgers & the like - & we have no complaints. Our room had an excellent view across the bay & was clean, comfortable & air conditioned. This was very welcome & came at no extra charge. There was a safe in the room also at no extra charge. We used the pool area most days but did venture onto the beach a few times. This is pebbles & uncomfortable to walk on so it's worth investing in a set of pumps/light shoes. You can swim/snorkel from the beach - the water is warm & calm - but you can also hire boats (if you want to go further afield) or canoes/pedalo's if you want to stay within the bay. There are plenty of fish in the bay so if you're new to snorkeling (like I am) then there's quite a lot to see. The hotel had musical entertainment on most evenings & these could play zanything from traditional Greek music to much more modern stuff. It was very pleasant to watch the sun go down, drink in hand, on the bar terrace with music playing away in the background. The hotel puts on a free bus (once a week I think) to Corfu town & we took advantage of this. Corfu town is beautiful (quite colonial) & the old Fort (which is now a music college) is well worth a visit. From the hotel we walked to a local monastery - it took about 40 minutes & a fair bit of that is uphill - but the views are stunning & the monastery is very relaxing with lots of cats! On way back to the hotel we stopped at Corfu aquarium - again worth a visit if you're into fishes & reptiles. We also went on a day long boat trip to Paxos & Anti-Paxos - again this is a worthwhile trip out but it's a long day. I would sum up by saying the hotel is well run, has friendly & attentive staff & is set in a beautiful location. If you don't want to go half board there are plenty of cafe's/restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. Would we go back? Quite simply - yes :)

Totally worth it! Rooms are lovely and the staff is so incredibly helpful and wonderful. And of course, the cliffside sunbathing area is just to die for. Totally lived up to the photos and hype. I was out there everyday having the time of my life. Reading and swiming in the water all day long. Playing in the near by sea caves, and snorkeling and enjoying the sea life. The food here is wonderful! Make sure to get the half board, it's totally worth it. Also, make sure to make an appt to eat at their bar, food was phenomenal! My husband and I rented a car while here, but there is a bus that run from the Hotel to Corfu all day long. And it hardly costs anything. We actually used it to go into Old Town so we wouldn't have to worry about parking. The only complaint is that people will go put their towels down by the rocks, and leave them there for hours. Taking up the few sun bathing beds there are in the cliffside. I wish the staff would oversee that area. The rest of the resort has signs that say if you leave your things in attended for 30 min, they will be removed. People would put their towels out and disappear for 2 hours for breakfast, then for a couple hours again for lunch. I thought it was rude! I always would take my towel with me when I left and offer my seat to someone else. Trying to hog a spot seemed so awful and just plain selfish. Especially as there were times I would come and go and the entire time the person who's spot was saved, was never there! Literally, once I noticed for 3 hours a couple didn't show up. Even though other couples came and went hoping for a spot.

This place is awesome! we stayed here as a couple end of mai. We booked a room with west-view and we loved it, the whole bay is stunning and very beautifull. having your morning coffee on the balkony was super. Everybody_ from the staff was super friendly, perfect english, well dressed. made us feel very welcome all the time. food: breakfast is super, nothing to miss here. roomservice is providing very quality food, not the usual fried c*ap. dinner is nice but, just to expensive in relation. as a couple with water and wine you spend around 100 € ... go to any taverna next to the hotel and get the real greek feeling for half that money. thats the only point to mention. location: awesome! but if you dont like stairs or are not very mobile or handicapped you should consider a flat place. you can acces a rocky beach for sunbathing and AWESOME snorkeling at the east, and a rocky / sandy beach at the west. both a not to big and offer crazy crystal clear whater. the water is cold(er) here all year than at others bays at corfu. locals told us. in may we had short over 20° in the water and 27° air. parking: is limited but included if possible. massages can be booked, I did so and enjoyed it (external service). overall a quiete (in may...) hotel with many area to lounge, chill and spend time. different bars offer awesome food and nice views. I would recommend the hotel for pure beach days, snorkeling and just a good time with friends. we will come back!
