Marietta's Resort — Hotel in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

Staff are nice and friendly at first when you spend money, almost too friendly. This was until the owners daughter came screaming and swearing at us across the pool in front of the other customers which is extremely unprofessional. This is when we found out the cleaning lady, who by the way did not once come in and clean our rooms or give toilet paper or towels during our 5 day stay, had told the owners daughter that we had told her not to go in our rooms. She was lying out of her teeth as she knows full well we did not once even speak to her. The owner was screaming at us due to the fact that we had washed up the glasses but had not put them away, and there was slight sprays of sun cream oil on the floor tiles. The daughter seemed to have major anger issues and in a fit of rage episodes threw the coffee table out of the window, proceeding to smash it, and once again the owner who is the mother, decided to blame it on us and scream at us. We found this completely disrespectful and unprofessional and even intimidating. I extremely suggest if you fancy enjoying your holiday, I advise you not to come here as the family who own it seem to be very fake and only content when we are spending money, can I also say it’s extremely overpriced. To add on to this, the cleaner clearly does not do her job as she was threatening to quit over having to put cups away and wipe the floor. Extremely petty worst place I’ve visited by far. after visiting for several years, this fantastic litle kept secret , its time to for us to share our experience. Mariettas is not the large all inclusive , bussy (and noisy i must add) destination.If you are looking for that kind of holidays , swipe left. Here you will find cosy ,dirrect , piece of mind accomodation with friendly and genuinely hospital owners. They realy know all of their guests by their names as a very good percentage of them is returning customers. Thats of course for several good reassons. Most obvius is the tranquility a couple or a family can find here wether it be at their balcony or by the pool or even at the bar.The warm welcome and the (usualy quite emotional) ".... see you next year". Famour are their Bbq and the home made food that Marrietas mother and father (mainly) prepare for their guests.Traditional homemade Greeck cuisine at its finest with good quality products while remaining reasonably priced.Their Waffles are out of this world ....one can not eat just one (or two). Same goes for their spinach pies and cheese pies (my favorites). The rooms are clean and tidy. Expect well sized rooms , with good view and very close to all the amendities the area has to offer.
