Well I'm not enthusiastic about Chalkis in general but this has nothing to do with the hotel itself. It is located quite close to the castle but if you're driving make sure you have a good sat-nav at hand :)||||Pretty much everything was great. Starting with the check-in to check-out. ||Helpful staff, always smiling. It's really the first impression that counts the most so keep it up!||The room was very nicely decorated (I'd say modern to elegant), as I remember it was 3rd floor. Room and bathroom decent size and quite clean (although you could tell the room floor was not swept as there were tiny pieces of glass left here and there). Air-con working ok, mattress comfortable, very nice view to the bay and the city (sea view room). I can imagine the higher floor rooms are even better in that sense.||Buffet breakfast with plenty of choice, tasty. Served in the top floor restaurant that has an amazing view. And we had a try of the dinner menu, and it was very good.||No issues with parking late June.||All in all, if you could only move this hotel to a smaller town, it would be a 10/10;) But if ||||I am ever back in Chalkis, I would...
Read moreWe stayed at Hara Hotel in Sept 2023 as we ventured into Evia. This is the 3rd time we have stayed there (our 3rd time in Greece) and it is our go to when coming to Evia. It's simple, clean and well priced. The upstairs restaurant has amazing views of the capitol over the water. The rooms are well kept and functional. We love Hara Hotel because it's on the opposite side of the waterfront. That means on street car parking and an easy walk over the bridge into the beautiful bustle of Chalkida. I saw a review about the breakfast being average. This isn't a 5 star hotel, nor does it pretend to be, but the breakfast was included in the price. It was a buffet style, so you could have toast, cereals, fruits etc. It was great value and more than adequate. But the views that came with the breakfast were 6 star all the way. Kind and helpful reception which includes this gorgeous dog at reception. A great place to stay as an entry into the beautiful island that is Evia. Thank...
Read moreWe spent a night with the family during easter at Hara hotel. ||||Hotel does not have a parking available and parking in nearby streets was a hustle due to heavy traffic on Easter days where people flood Halkida. ||||Check in and check out was smooth. ||||Breakfast was good even though there was not enough omelette for people to get and we had to ask for more, which was again not enough. ||||Hotel roof bar had amazing view and drinks/ cocktails were nice. ||||Room was OK and clean, but bathroom did not have a glass cover so when we took showers the bathroom was literally flooded. Room views were amazing from the balcony although the distance between the balcony protective irons were quite big which could be dangerous for little kids. ||||For 70 euro per night Id anticipate for hotel slippers to be provided as well, but unfortunately they were not. ||||Overall good hotel, if it was for 40-50 eur per night Id consider it a bargain, for 70 euro...
