Asteria Plage — Restaurant in Municipality of Chalkida

It's a very stylish beach bar the Asteria plage... Star Plaza. Very nice seating areas and also very beautiful areas for sunbathing. The sun loungers are very comfortable and the umbrella s again stylish but not doing much for shade. So take a high sunscreen cream with you. This place is popular with the high end crowd. It is on the very expensive site of the variety of beach options you have around Chalkida. On the plus side the waters are Cristal clear and shallow. Good for families with small kids. The deep end of the water is marked and additionally there is a life guard who observes very carefully if you tend to be taken by the wave. The service on the other hand... Not very good. The waitress was slow and not attentive. She wouldn't even turn after being called. On the other hand... She was pretty. It's located in the centre of Chalkida, therefore very convenient for people who stay in the centre and the carpark charges a small single fee of 3.50 EU. 10€ for a set of sunbeds, 5€ for a freddo espresso, 4€ for 250ml fanta. The service isn't the best. From what I could tell, there's 3 people on shift in charge of the sunbeds & 2 other guys that are juat hanging out with the waiters. Only 1 of those people actually seems to be working & is actually friendly. The other 4 boys seem to just be hanging around, doing nothing, looking at women's bodies & talking about it CONSTANTLY, laughing, punching each other etc. Basically, totally unacceptable behaviour for a waiter. Understandable, you don't have a lot of customers but that doesn't mean you should behave like you're on your day off. They were constantly talking about when they're going to leave, didn't seem to care about whether we're going to pay or not.

Great location. kind service. We came based on a recommendation for breakfast. They don’t have a continental breakfast, but there are interesting options. My daughter ordered pancake with lots of chocolate and various toppings. She complained that it said Oreo on the menu, but she hasn’t found any. I ordered a Greek omelet with feta. It was simply inedible. The cheese, which they generously used, was smelly, and I tend to think it wasn’t fresh. I couldn’t eat it. I pushed the plate aside because it smelled awful for both of us. When the waiter came to clear the table, I explained the situation. He came back and offered something else instead, I refused politely, I paid full amount for the omelette. Shame.
