Hi, I would like to share our experience at Elotis Suites as we stayed here for 9 nights. Please decide for yourself if you would like to spend your holiday here.||||My son was often swimming on his own in the small pool as there were very few tourists in October. He has ADHD/autism, and is full of energy, however didn't hurt himself or anyone else, and did not cause any damage to the hotel, needless to say. In fact, many tourists really took to my son, Tommy, and became our friends.||The hotel manager came out to me at the pool and shamed me for being the ‘bad mother, who does not care about her son’. His conduct was aggressive and disrespectful. He threatened to throw us out of the hotel. I then had to visit the ladies. My son told me that this man came out again, grabbed my son by his arm, shouted at my son, snatched the net on the stick out of my son's hand and threw it onto the hotel roof. The Receptionist knocked on the room door and demanded me to go to the pool. I saw my son in a great distress and the Hotel Manager shouting. My son tried to stand up for himself, however the hotel staff tried to shame Tommy for it.||In addition, there were several stray cats at the hotel grounds. We are animal lovers so I have enquired in writing whether we could adopt the kitten, and did not get a response. The cleaning lady said she would take the kitten for winter only and that she has microchipped the cat, however the kitten has always been outside, she had fungus on her chin too. The kitten really took to us, was following us and loved cuddling with me and my son. I tool the kitten to the vet, where they scanned her for the microchip. There was no microchip, so the cleaning lady lied to us. I paid for the vaccinations and the rest in order to adopt the cat. Now, the hotel staff have been harassing me and my son for our efforts to rescue the cat from Crete. We also rescued several blind kittens in the neighbourhood and paid the vets. ||The restaurant manager (or so he calls himself) was following me, demanding me to show him the contents of my bag. ||Prior to our last day I went to Reception to enquire about the last day access to our room and offered to pay extra if needed. No answer was given to me. On the last day the Receptionist was knocking on our door demanding us to leave at once at 11am. They then called the police, and I had to explain what was going on. We had no peace during our holiday at this place. When we packed the hotel did not offer to keep our luggage till the pick up at 8pm. We felt a lot of hatred towards us. So me, the mum with the small kid had to bring our luggage to the beach, where we spent the whole day.||I am very concerned about the unprofessional and aggressive conduct of the hotel management and the staff. I have reported them to the Society of animal protection in Crete too. There are plenty of nicer hotels/people...
Read moreWe stayed in a two bedroom "suite" at Elotis Suites for our ten night holiday. Room 108 is on two levels. Upstairs is two single beds, two small drawers and a desk with two more drawers. Only two power points, though. There is a toilet with a wash basin, too. By the basin is the power point to charge up your razor or toothbrush. Outside of this room is a large terrace with a table and chairs, plus a wall mounted clothes rack. Note that this is overlooked by two rooms at the back, plus the adjoining property. Down the twisty wooden stairs (be careful at the top, they're not straight up) is the main area. There is the main bedroom with, again, two single beds and a wardrobe and dresser. Two power points in here. The seating area has a sofa plus table and chairs. The really nice shower is down here but has a clouded glass door so can't hide all your modesty! The downstairs loo is in here, too. There's not a load of cupboard space and the fridge is behind a door. You get a kettle, two pan electric hob and a toastie machine but no toaster! Two power points in this room, too. The rooms are cleaned, beds made and clean towels 6 days out of 7, the wi-fi is good and the air con excellent (a unit in each room). We never tried the breakfast so can't comment but I did look and it's standard buffet fare. Overall, we were really happy with our stay and all the staff were friendly and courteous. Elotis is very neat and tidy and a great place to stay for families. Bus stops and supermarkets nearby, loads of restaurants, too, including the very good Terpsi slap bang next door. The beach is 50m across the road, behind the opposite buildings (head to it by the Minerva). Only gripe, apart from any mentioned above, is that they wanted to charge €216 to keep the room on for 8...
Read moreJust got back from the elotis after spending a fortnight there. A lovely hotel to be at if you want to be in again marina. Hotel room was cleaned every day with clean towels. The bar staff are two brothers who run the place. Adonis and Joseph. Even though it is at the hotel grounds it is separated from the hotel. One o'clock they said the bar closes but many times we never left untill well after 2. Sometimes later. |Now, when you are again marina there are no bars on the strip. Yes, you can get a drink but mostly at the restaurants where you have a meal. The elotis is the only place where there is a bar on the front. On the beach which is only across the road there you will find the bars, mostly the ones that backs on to hotels. No walk ways to each one but really walking on the sand if you stay on the beach side. So if you're looking to jump from bar to bar on the strip, forget it ! |30 mins up the road if you are walking you will find a string of bars or 5-10 mins bus ride, only 2 euros. The area is called plantanis. Up there is more lively than agia marina. So if you want a bit of music then head up there. The whole area is with people from Scandinavia with. 95%. And the rest with Brits, German, Dutch. No problem. But be warned if you are looking for that British theme you won't find it at agia marina. I was told that the only airport open to people from Scandinavia was chania airport and not herikion that's why there are so many there. Where as Brits normally fly in the other airport.|Anyway a great place to be in. I did warm to it at the end and think I would go the...
