MINERVA BEACH HOTEL — Hotel in Municipality of Chania

We have been here before, about 10 years, and loved this hotell because of the location and nice staff. Not anymore. The entire staff had been replaced. The restaurant that earlier was very nice now looked dusty and dirty,and the tables by the sun loungers were never cleaned properly. We ate lunch there twice but were not particularly impressed.Therefore, we chose to go elsewhere to eat for the rest of the holiday. |We did not get the room we ordered, there were no sun beds on the beach. The beds was right next to the restaurant, in other words; we were lying like on public display.|This restaurant used to be very popular for the hotel guests and guests from other hotels in the area, and was usually full all day. Now it was nearly no customers at all. At least not during the two weeks we were down there.|The only good thing about this hotell is the bed. That's excellent.|And the beautiful staff in the reception. If it hadn't been for her, our vacation would have been a disaster. She acted very professionally and tried in every possible way to make the stay enjoyable for us. So; thank you very much!!|My advise to the manager: Replace the old staff in the restaurant and keep the professional staff in the reception....

Very bad experience with this hotel. The price is ridiculous high for such an old hotel and the service is non-existent for what you pay. The breakfast is very poor and the quality of the food is bad. You eat the same food every day, there is no fruit. After few days you wonder if these people are normal and that there are people who are fine with that kind of food. Walls full of ants, wifi that didn't work all the time. I had to buy internet. The worst thing was the bathroom which was really old. A dirty shower in which you cannot adjust the water for 15 minutes. A shower handle used in the last century. I newer saw something like that. The curtain cabin, which was cut as if a child had played with it, is of no use because the water will flood the entire bathroom evry time you take a shower. Our front door was from glass and if someone would stand next to it he would hear and see evrything because our bed was next to the door. You don't have privacy. I would not recommend this...
