Would not recommend to a friend. Stayed for 3 nights, very far from center Chania (15 minute drive or 54 minute walk) where parking is extremely hostile and limited. We got in at 22h at night with a taxi reserved via the hotel. When we got there there was no receptionist able to let us in. He was on his motorcycle so we were sitting out there waiting for our key code to get into the hotel after a long travel day which he was aware of…
When you walk into the hotel you are greeted with an amazing scent, but then we learned quickly why… they were covering up the scent of a massive sewage problem. Our room smelled horrible.
There was never a receptionist person when we were there, there was a desk for them but no one physically present.
Breakfast was 28€, not worth the price at all. Just some deli meats, a very sugary fruit salad and old grocery store pastries that were stale. The kitchenette was fine since it included a coffee maker, microwave and tea kettle. But they didn’t supply us with enough coffees, sugars and milks. Had to constantly ask for more. The sugar packets were also wet so they were very difficult to get the actual sugar out.
The pool was a nice part of the place, but was dirty on the bottom, and the view from the pool was of this Asian constructed house rather than of the ocean like promoted.
The cot was beyond uncomfortable and the hotel should not promote it as an option. The bathroom situation is not great as it is all see through and no actual doors. Could hear bathroom activity if you know what I’m saying… The shower was see through which isn’t great for families since there is a lack of privacy.
Gave service a higher rating since the maid service was very good at their jobs, constantly freshening towels and coffee when asked.
But the lasting impression is sewage problems and a headache of a location. Spend the extra money for central Chania location if that’s what you’re looking for because the driving to and from the town is a headache with extremely steep and sandy roads where we were grasping...
Read moreWe had the most amazing stay at Nuovo from the moment we stepped into the property until we left. We were blown away by the modern decor of the suites and the service from our host Ilias. I can say he went above and beyond to make our stay the most enjoyable. It was my partners birthday and he organised wine, strawberries snd balloons upon arrival. We didn’t have a car and because the property is located a fair walk away from local restaurant it’s he organised food delivery and taxis for us.
We stayed on the pool suite on the second floor with the best views! The pool is the perfect depth and very refreshing for day or night swims. Sunsets off the east can be seen from the pool lounge. The bed is extremely comfortable and they also have Netflix.
Only thing i can share is you will need a car if you stay here as we struggled with our big luggage carrying it up the steep hill going up to the property. The walk to the local Lidls supermarket is about 15mins away with a couple of restaurants opposite.
Highly recommend Nuovo and will...
Read moreIf i could give a higher rating i would! We happened to stumble upon this place by accident because our original hotel was extremely disappointing and it practically ruined our trip or so we thought until we arrived at Nuovo luxury suites and it spun 180°. Our stay at Nuovo was unexpected for the owners so for them to find us a place to stay was very appreciated. We stayed for 12 days, trying out 3 different rooms and let me say this, this place is absolutely beautiful, with every room being given a little different touch to seperate from the other rooms. The rooms with the pool is my absolute favorite. U can read and/or relax on the bed hanging over the pool while enjoying the great view and weather. The owners are amazing people, they saved our trip and even rewrote our itinerary on where we should go and we greatly appreciate it! They go above and beyond to make sure your stay at Nuovo is a highlight of your trip but also a...
