Pantanassa Villas — Hotel in Municipality of Chania

We stayed at the Villa Pannatanas for 5 days and we had a fantastic time. The villa itself is nicely situated in the hills, only a 3 minute drive to Agia Marina, and around 25 minutes into Chania. It’s perfect for a quiet get-away, but I think a car rental is a must as the hill is very steep and grocery shopping etc would be difficult if you didn’t have transport.

The villa is beautiful! Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished, we were really pleased with it. The interior is modern and has everything you need, and the outside is really great for sunbathing and relaxing. The pool is a good size and was maintained while we were there (along with grass cutting etc), to ensure the outside was kept to a great standard.

In reference to the negative review regarding the ants outside and bugs in the pool, we can only vouch that it was cleared of bugs every morning. I find it ridiculous that someone would penalise the owners for something so inevitable as bugs outside! Bugs will land in the pool throughout the day, as with any outdoor space. The filters worked great and we were happy to fish out the odd bug which did try and commit suicide throughout the day…

The view is amazing - the outdoor space is split into two sections and the upper balcony is fantastic for watching the sunset (complete with hot tub which we didn’t unfortunately get around to using!) We also enjoyed watching the sunrise from our bed in the upstairs bedroom as the window opposite the bed gives great views over the sea.

One thing I would suggest is that it would be a plus to have curtains installed in the downstairs windows in the kitchen area as at night especially it would have been nice to shut the curtains for more privacy as the villa’s garden is overlooked by the other surrounding villas with higher balconies. For the most part, the villa has private areas and being overlooked is really only an issue if, like me, you may wish to sunbathe topless! It really wouldn’t be an issue otherwise, or for family groups etc.

Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was not fully reliable and we found it quite slow loading larger web pages (e.g for work). We opted to use our phone data instead so there weren’t any issues for us, but it may be a problem for anyone looking to rely on the Wi-Fi.

Maintenance workers, cleaners and contact with the villa’s owner was pleasant, and check in and out was easy. Late check in was accommodated despite us arriving at nearly 11pm which was very kind.

All in all, we would absolutely recommend this villa! We had a great time and were really sad to leave; it’s definitely somewhere you could spend 2 weeks or so for a longer break! If you’re looking for a peaceful break in a beautiful location, look no further.

We had a very pleasant stay for eleven Days in September 2021 in the Tepsichore Villa. Started with a friendly contact with the owner Stamatis whilst inquiry and booking procedure, but unfortunately never met him in person. We was hosted by a a very friendly diligent lady, who also do the cleaning. The (tarred) road up to the house was partially very steep and narrow. Just to know. Otherwise the overview is stunning, just one disturbing house in the front. Very quiet area - also quiet guests around us. The House was beautiful. Living room, (small) kitchen and a bathroom with shower/toilet/sink in the ground-floor. Open stair to the first floor with (big) bedroom and another (small) bathroom with shower/toilet. Bedroom had a Double and a Sofa(bed), a sink and balcony. Every floor had a separate AC. Washing machine (with tabs!), Iron board and some more was also included. Terrace with table, four chairs and two good sunbeds. Pool was clean all the time, two or three insects felt in all over the time and lay there for some hours - really no reason to cry. House was also very clean and service was about every two or three days, incl. new bed sheets and bathroom-towels. Shower worked well! Own parking place in front of the door! Big fridge! What we missed (luxury problems): Sun-Brella - as shade for Breakfast outside. Dish-washer and Toaster in the kitchen.

Anyway -...

Stay away from this place! The owner is very rude! We booked place for one night. Swimming pool was with bugs dead and alive. Internet was slow not possible even work as my partner works in investments. The owner send someone to clean at 8 pm in evening when was sunset we paid 150€ and we don't had opportunity to use swimming pool! On top he got rude to us and said it's our responsibility to say him that pool is dirty! I mean he probably didn't clean pool for weeks! After when we said we not satisfied he said you can leave at night so he will give 50% back . Like where we leave you can't find place at night to get check in. And after that he never messaged us to find solution. We stayed in creta for month we stayed in 20 different villas. Trust me it's not worth your money and your stress to someone who not appreciating customers.! BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE...
